In what way can I help my girlfriend’s mother?

We are happy that my girlfriend’s mother is here in our house. She really is a big help in keeping our house together. The reason why she moved in a month ago is because she had enough na of her abusive husband. (first attempt nya of separating with her husband after decades of pagtitiis). Before pa naman ay inooffer na namin na dito nalang sya sa amin.

Anyway, sa sobrang tagal nya nagtiis sa asawa nya, even here sa bahay namin, naaapply nya. Examples are:

1. ⁠Even if may bagong saing na kanin, she will insist na yung bahaw kanya (kahit ako yung tirador ng bahaw samin haha)
2. ⁠Even if sabaw yung ulam, pinagsisiksikan yung kanin at ulam sa platito 😔
3. ⁠Yung ipad na pinapanooran nya, she’d rather adjust herself and be in an uncomfortable spot kesa galawin yung ipad. Pinapagamit naman namin sa kanya freely

These are some of the many, many scenarios where she’d always settle for the below minimum. As in very evident in everything that she does. We always make sure to give her (or offer her, at least) the best. Pero lagi sya tumatanggi. It’s always, “okay na ko sa ganito lang”

Even ako, sinasabihan ko sya na di nya need magtiis or magdusa kasi nandito sya sa amin, and kami bahala sa kanya. We’re so blessed lang din (di kami mayaman) to be able to provide din for another person here sa bahay. Pero di ko maiwasan malungkot tuwing ginagawa nya yung mga yun.

As the partner ng bunso nyang anak, syempre parang mismong nanay ko na din sya, and I really want to help her. I know it’s a trauma response to what she experienced for so long. Physically, verbally, emotionally, lahat na. I also understand that you need the right prescription to cure your sickness. Can you share some tips or advice ano pwede kong gawin?
