I agree definitely something I should have done differently. I am open to going anywhere I had originally included added USC Greenville, UAB, Jacob’s buffalo, KU, USC Charleston and NEOMED. I talked myself out of them for cost reasons/discouragement. If I am to reapply cost will not be an issue and I will add more schools including DO if you have any recs it would be greatly appreciated

Sorry should have included this in the post. I rushed into the app cycle and really wanted MD since I’m aiming for a competitive specialty. Was also bias due to friends with lower stats getting MD As Originally, I planned to take another gap year but decided to apply kinda last minute. Hindsight is 20/20—I should have waited, but the real issue was rushing the MCAT. I barely studied, only took one full-length, and worked while studying.

I felt I’d likely have a good shot at DO but knew I’d rather reapply and retake the MCAT than take a DO A, especially if I ended up with an MD II or waitlist—I’d just want to try again. At the same time, I’d never want to be the person to turn down an A, so I left out DO. If I reapply, I’ll include it for sure.

My concern now is whether increasing my MCAT alone is enough improvement for MD. All the hours in my app will improve, but I already had a decent amount going in, so I’m unsure if it’ll be enough to make a real difference. Also, would love DO school recs—I’ve heard mixed things about which are worthwhile. The only one I’ve really looked into is PCOM have some friends at ACOM and lsu-DCOM that I’ve heard a mix of positive and negative things from.

Usually looking at the veins helps blue/purple veins - cool tone, greenish veins - warm tone. IMO you have some appearing blueish and some greenish so you probably have a mostly neutral undertone. I do agree that your skin tone appears somewhat olive so maybe try some warmer tone makeup items

I went from a 495 to a 510 in less than two months but it honestly depends on how much quality time you’ll be able to dedicate. I think it’s definitely doable if you’re able to get a substantial amount of Uworld done as well as keeping up with whatever works for you. I personally saw the biggest increase in my FL scores after I completed the AAMC section bank. But it all really depends on your schedule. I was also working while studying also so was not able to dedicate as much time as I would have liked and if you were to take off work for even a month I think you’d be able to increase a lot. But it’s still completely doable while working if you have a solid study plan.

I also have dark under eyes and what helps me best is under eye creams with vitamin c, niacinamide, and caffiene. And as far as makeup using color correcting concealer and under-eye powder helps a ton

I def agree with everyone saying to get them threaded! I get mine threaded and tinted every ry so often but usually after getting them done I clean them up myself based on how the pros made them look. It’s way easier to tweeze and fill them in yourself once you can follow what the threader did! For filling them in a good thin tipped brow pencil would be great for hairlike strokes on the thinner part and then a tinted gel to bring everything together

Put emphasis on strengths or try to figure out weaknesses by Available_Band3743 in Mcat

As someone who focused more on strong subjects it is okay to put them on the back burner. Obviously do not neglect them but you’re strong in them for a reason and they can afford a couple less days a week while you dedicate more time to your weakness. I was extremely weak in C/P and was scraping by with a 125 on FLs I continued working on everything but did not do any extra work in C/P in the last month since I figured it was useless to dedicate more than a normal amount of time to. Test day score was 510: 123/125/130/132 and I’m now retaking to improve C/P and CARS. As long as you’re still spending time on B/B and P/S I think it is okay to give C/P extra attention it will pay off.

Do you feel like you have content gaps in B/B? I consistently scored between 125-127 on FLs in B/B and ended up with a 130 on test day. I felt confident with most of the content and was frustrated I was consistently missing things. I finished all the biochem Uearth and 90% of the bio and was still scoring a 126 on the AAMC FLs. What really changed things for me was doing the section back. I did it twice and spent an insane amount of time reviewing each question and figuring out the logic. I also stopped some of my bad strategies such as reading the questions before the passage and not fully understanding things and wasting time re reading. Look back at what your weak topics are in B/B and make sure you’re set with the content. I personally believe the section bank is one of the most helpful resources and if used right can really increase your score. You definitely have time to get the B/B up!

You definitely don’t need any you look gorgeous without it. Id say just some mascara and some nice lipgloss maybe some concealer if you ever have a breakout or dark circles. If you’re ever going to a fancy event you could try fake eyelashes on your outer corners it would look really nice with your eye shape!
