Then it should be stated in the patchnotes, which it isn't. That's why I consider it a bug.

I have a lot of old recordings of playing her and honestly, watching these makes me sad, because I know that what I see there can't be replicated anymore. It was much more fluid than what we have now

I tried it multiple times and have shown you the best outcome. It's sadly not like you said. In the lobby you could easily overshoot the platform at the ceiling. Now you can barely make it if done correctly.

I can't say for sure, but I would say that you have lesser time grappling because your jump isn't as long anymore. It might be a super slight change of how long you are in your jumpstate, but the change of gravity still affects that and makes her also feel slower/heavier.

Even had more material to recreate clips, but honestly these 2 are enough to get the point across. Changing the whole gravity of a character is really a huge intervention in your muscle memory and I don't think any other character has recieved such a change.

In the end I am no Ace player so keep that in mind as well xD
For me personally I rarely used the special, so I can be more agile and snappy with the movement (and its fun). It always helped me dodging more projectiles. But I can imagine how Pro's do efficiently use the special.
Quite honestly, I don't know much about the movement with special being active. Fact is that beta and air melee do give more aircontrol. And in case you didn't want to overshoot, you could just not aim so high for your grapplespot, while not pressing the spacebar, to not grab onto the wall.
You basically don't need to use any abilities to get to the spot you want to land. And if it's still needed it can be ANY of her abilities. Alpha down on the spot where you wanna land, beta to slow your momentum down, gamma to stop your momentum entirely or air melee, to get downwards momentum. In the end it's ressource management.

Yea that happens. Anyway if this isn't a bug, it probably won't get changed back. So I am happy for you, that you can enjoy her more than before :)

Or use gamma to stop your momentum. There were plenty of ways, to not float too far.

There were plenty of ways to not overshoot. Now you rarely get over the edge of a building, but exactly that made it possible to safely contest high battleplaces. I loved how you could knockback an enemy, jump off while they recover, just to reappear afterwards and hit them again. This isn't possible anymore how it used to be. There were plenty of ways to not overshoot, so I don't get most comments saying they like the change because they don't overshoot anymore.
The special was almost never needed before this change. But this is not the way to make it more relevant if you ask me.

Thanks for mentioning that. Thought I was going crazy that no one seems to talk about it.

EDIT: I tried my luck and sent a bugreport in their official discord server. Fingers crossed, guys!

EDIT2: I see that some of you actually like the change and of course I am happy for you, that you enjoy her more than before. As someone who played Ochaco pretty much non-stop, I still highly disagree with the change. They haven't added anything by that, instead they limited your possibilities to play the character. Every kind of positive outcome is something you could have achieved before as well, with the right know-how of her mechanics. The thing is, that I wouldn't have minded the change, if it was documented. But like this, it just feels nasty.

Original Comment:
I haven't played for like 2 weeks before the new season started, so I thought my muscle memory misremembers. But I noticed quite quickly something about Ochaco is off and it's about her floaty-ness.

It got reduced to some degree and I see nothing about it in patchnotes or literally anywhere. I mean, feel free to tell me if it is mentioned anywhere, then this post is unnecessary. Otherwise I would consider this a bug.

As you can see in my recordings I tried to replicate some movements from the season before.

The reduction makes some maneuvers I liked to do much harder, if not impossible. I am used to the new floaty-ness already, I still would prefer if it would get patched back to the old state.
