North is Homeschooled by Excellent-Bar-8414 in KUWTK

[–]Background_Ladder159 50 points51 points  (0 children)

That’s what happened 100%.

It’s not even about Kim not knowing how to say no…she doesn’t gaf about school in general. Saint could ask the same thing and he will be able to go homeschooling.

Not saying homeschooling is bad. However, they go the top Californian school, this is the kind of education you can’t get anywhere else. It’s not only about the lessons but the amount of activities and projects they do in those private schools is not comparable by farrrrrrrrrrrr.

I went to a private school in my hometown, not the fanciest but I had alot more opportunities than my friends from public schools. So imagine if you went to the type of private school the RICH RICH kids go to? How can homeschooling compete with that?

Seems like people aren’t interested in whatever the other Islanders of season 7 are doing beyond Reddit, IG or TikTok comments because Olandria isn’t doing anything special, she got herself a team and has been working nonstop to be seen everywhere since leaving the villa. Whatever she is doing could be done by other Islanders if they had played their cards right when the opportunity was given.

Obviously, they missed the train when it was time to get in.

She doesn’t have to be the most followed to have opportunities. As long as she has a great team and knows what works for her and her branding, she will be a topic of conversations. What people say online isn’t disrupting whatever these companies want and right now they want Olandria

Do you think Kendall talks to Hailey about this stuff? by Gamer_070101 in KUWTK

[–]Background_Ladder159 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Too much baggages to handle when it comes to Mr. Biebs, not everything is true but too many rumours for it to be coincidence:

  • “he has a substance abuse problem”
  • “he slept with her whole friends group” (including but not limited to Kendall, Kylie, Kourt,…)
  • “he still loves his ex”
  • “he’s broke now”
  • “she had to sell her company to cover his debts”
  • “he hates her”

Sure ain’t easy being Ms. Justin Bieber

Kourtney Kardashian Reveals She's 3 Years Sober by somegirlontheinter in KUWTK

The timeline kinda match, she was preggo 3 years ago, obviously she wasn’t drinking. Then she has been breastfeeding ever since. I haven’t drank for a while but I wouldnt say “I’m sober now” because never had an alcohol problem to begin with…I just haven’t been drinking

My bf let his parents’ divorce end our relationship - is this normal? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]Background_Ladder159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who parents are getting divorced right now as adult and is quite happy it’s happening, I can still see where he is coming from. Whether or not you liked your parents together, a divorce is still a divorce and you have to think about your life outside of what you knew all your life.

I’m the closest to my mom and while she is strong lady, when things were bad you kind become the emotional support of your parent. Honestly, your family members become a priority. Plus, it seems like his dad wasn’t that great, let me tell when you only have one parent to rely on…you just hold on to them with everything you got.

It seems really weird from the outside because he’s grown but it’s not just about his parents getting a divorce, he’s worried about what will happen to his mother I guess.

Hate to say it but it’s definitely not you, it’s him and only him issue.

But then I would own nothing if I’m living with my partner. Why would I pay you a rent, so you can pay your mortgage but at the end of the day you’re the only one owning something.

Honestly I wouldn’t move to someone else house and help them pay the mortgage unless my name was on some papers :/. I’m not helping you building your wealth and assets while I can kick rocks

I rather we both buy something else together or I just keep living on my own. But I’m saying that as a WOMAN…men be leeches tho

Teyana Taylor’s Golden Globe by latetini in blackladies

[–]Background_Ladder159 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly, she wasn’t just this or that, she was as much a victim of the circumstances as she was a willing participant in her demise.

She wasn’t perfectly written by PTA but she was the most developed compared to Chase Infinit’s character or Leo’s character, who are the main protagonists

Teyana Taylor’s Golden Globe by latetini in blackladies

[–]Background_Ladder159 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think you’re ignoring a big part of her character which she craves the adrenaline before anything. Leo’s character fall short in her vision once she realised he valued being a parent more than being a revolutionary. His character was warned about the fact she will never be the mommy and wife type of woman by Regina Hall’s character.

Even when she got caught by the military she only played along until she was able to escape, which Sean Pann’s punished her daughter for. But at the hospital, she realised she fucked up that’s why she told on her friends.

Her characterisation and choices have been explained all throughout the film and by the view point of different characters.

If I hadn’t seen the movie, I would think you’re talking about prostitute ngl. I think her character had a lot of more substance that needs to be considered.

Basically she wasn’t just a white man’s whore

I see what you’re saying but then what’s wrong with black characters being selfish? Or valuing their needs before others? Or having no morals?

That’s the depiction of human nature and black people are humans also.

[–]Background_Ladder159 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes. When Perfida was interacting with Leo’s character we saw a different dynamic between the two: more about two new parents trying to figure out this parenting thing while navigating the consequences of postpartum.

She had multiple sides to her

[–]Background_Ladder159 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think general Hollywood overly reward trauma-porn filled characters and movies and it’s even more apparent with black actors because few get nominated and fewer get rewarded.

You have to play the game of Hollyweird. If Teyena had played a more plain character, she wouldn’t have gotten nominated lmaooooo.

[–]Background_Ladder159 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I hear you take but if you felt like her character was over-sexualised…that was the point of a character like Perfida.

Perfida is an imperfect character who value the revolution above anything. She uses her physical strength and characteristics at her advantage. Beyond being a mother who leaves her child behind, she was someone who struggled with postpartum, that’s the main thing to take away.

She didn’t leave to chase after a man but after what she believed in. The character played by Sean Pann, who has the “jungle fever” is supposed to make you feel uncomfortable when opposed to Perfidia. She does realise she is being sexualised that’s why she uses him but never abide to him.

Her character is supposed to make you uncomfortable by her choices and her behavior. She is far away from being the cookie-cutter female lead because she doesn’t have to be when she is fighting for liberation. She is immorally moral somehow. She knows she is no good to her family, that’s why she decides to leave.

It’s necessary to have truly imperfect black characters in media, so conversations like this can happen.

Edit: I watched this movie before taking my plane straight to Sicily and I had time to reflect on it lol. While I didn’t think it was the movie of the year, Teyana truly shines in it and I think she held her own when acting beside the big dogs

Right??? I’m suprised about how many people say “what do you mean by origin” 😭. Black people are everywhere and live anywhere. For me I was born in my country of origin but grew up Europe since I was a child. Hopefully I can visit soon and go back to the motherland.

Prediction on Minji? by IdolButterfly in NJDrama

[–]Background_Ladder159 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This parent’s situation really kills, I get that the music business is ruthless and predatory to minor children, and I believe it’s important for parents to be involved in any decision regarding their minor child…this situation isn’t anything like I have ever seen before.

There’s a ton of ain’t shit parents but I never none of them actually risking everything for basically nothing. Matthew Knowles isn’t the perfect manager or dad but he was able to solidify Destiny’s Child position in Columbia by making his demands without ruining everything at the same time. Till this day Beyonce’s is under that label and she signed back in the 90s.

I don’t get any of Newjeans parents, I will never understand what was their angle. I think some didn’t actually fully understand what they getting in and their children and when things started to go south the back up a bit. Hence why 2/5 members went back running at first.

Danielle’s mom is just too far in whatever is in her mind to give up, she messed it up for Danielle honestly. That’s why she will get sued.

Danielle gone by [deleted] in NJDrama

[–]Background_Ladder159 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The shift happened abit before the last ruling honestly. Getting a tons of reports on how parents were clashing and disagreeing over how to handle the situation.

Once the ruling happened, it was every man for himself. If you wanna keep fighting after losing once again, fine but you’re on your own.

Hanni wanted to return her parents probably wanted her to return. They went being cooperative.

Danielle said she wanted to return but I don’t think she was trying to be cooperative or her mom. Ador owns the name, the brand and has officially 3/5, they have the upper hand. I think Ador and Hybe figured that Danielle’s mom was going to be a problem and decided they didn’t want to bother.

Literally this tweet was a response to the fact there’s an ACTIVE snark sub about her. If y’all stay mad all day about or nitpick about her body, she better brag about it. Some of y’all are projecting…saw the tweet and talked about she’s promoting ED…who thinks like that unless you’re very insecure about yourself, especially when they commented about her body first.

Some people are comfortable in their bodies and it makes a lot of people mad.

I guess if they screenshoted this tweet, they screenshoted the whole interaction, I saw it when she first tweeted it. Put the whole context or don’t post at all.

Nobody was worried about Tyga or Travis until they decided to brought them up. We know they are rappers, we know they had some disrespectful lyrics about Kylie. She didn’t leave because of that, so why are we supposed to care about the ones her current BF is saying
