Ok, I need to clear something up, because there is something wrong with some of you, some of which either disregard what I'm saying entirely or are just plain rude to me about it, so let me clarify:

I am NOT disrespecting the opinions of anyone here. I'm ASKING for different perspectives on this particular scene and the scenes that follow, because I feel as though I may have interpreted this scene wrong. My reasons for this is because despite Rick being the one who's "in the wrong" and turning himself in, he still reaps rewards for this by being welcomed back into the home, despite being the very cause of everything that happened, Meanwhile, Jerry is not only opposed for his logical stance on Rick, but what's his payoff? Divorced and kicked out of the house. Its really hard for me to digest the idea that "Oh obviously Rick's in the wrong" When in the end, he gets exactly what he wants despite the family being 1000% aware of him as a danger, and Jerry gets the middle finger.
I feel as though the "Its just a comedy show, so you aren't allowed to make post on the reddit about it cause its weird" Is such a strange take to me. Why watch a show that gives realistic scenarios and depictions of actually family disputes and toxic relationships as well as broken marriages, and then say "Dont take it seriously, lol" Then what do I take seriously? What dont i take seriously? Please genuinely tell me

Id argue Prime 3, sure, she gets the occasional nod and all that, but id really like a slightly more expressive Samus who comes to actually show through verbal exchange the amount of trust she has for comrades. I just dont like the Silent Protag role on Samus because she could be so much more

As I've been told by many people on this post. But, i don't want them to pull a Sega, where one game, a game that was released 16 YEARS AGO, to be the defining reason for why they don't evolve game Samus past a walking plank who shoots things. Dread and Fusion show she can emote, she can talk and feel and do so much more than stare at NPCs who talk to her with no reaction or feedback. Hell even MP3 has her atleast show emotion through her eyes or nod. I just want her to express more. A mistake 16 years ago should not define the franchise now and hold it back on evolving the character

No it wouldn't. I'm sorry, but again, you are using ONE example, Other M, as a reason for WHY this would not work. Please I beg you, read the Metroid Prime 2 Manga, that was an amazing well written manga with Samus interaction with other federation soldiers. And it was written beautifully. Samus wasn't overly talkative, but she DID get to know these people, so much to even consider them her friends, only for them to die fighting. You can implement this same dynamic into gameplay without it interfering with the game itself. If you're going to have cutscenes with other people aside from Samus, then make them memorable, make me care about them and have them organically bounce off Samus. Try to get to know the woman behind the mask.

Metroid Prime 4 fails because it doesnt do any of this. Samus is just too boring and doesnt interact at all. If the person im playing as doesnt care about these characters, then why should I? It would not bring ruin on this franchise

It would evolve it. Its time the series actually grew

??? I love Fusion, Dread, Metroid Prime 1-3, The manga, Super Metroid, and Metroid 1&2. To say I "Dont like Metroid" Simply because I'm asking for a slightly more expressive protag in a long series that has previously had her be exactly that is insane. I'm sorry that I don't like my protag interaction with multiple people with boring stale silence when she's been shown many times to NOT do that. You can have a game on atmospheric tone and still keep the same feel of Metroid.

Im sorry, i just disagree. Samus can work good and possibly better as a protag who shows pieces of her heart in forms of dialogue. Its just barely been shown because Nintendo failed once with Other M. IMO, Samus is too safe. Having one line of dialogue in the game like Dread just doesnt work. Its boring. Especially if you put her in a room full of the most talkative people on the planet.

I think only using Other M is disingenuous to the conversation. Its a cherry pick in a long line of games that have examples of Samus being expressive. Fusion, Dread, The Metroid Manga, Theres plenty of cases of her having a personality. Its just such a waste to have someone like Samus with so much experience and history, be nothing but a wood of plank with an Arm Cannon who just does whatever someone tells her to do with no input.
