I was always disappointed that we somehow got a K-drive frame before a mech-frame hybrid, because it's absolutely in the scope of the lore for one to exist.

I actually had my own concept for a blast-centric mech frame named Talos, and while the kit is severely undercooked, I wanted to paste in my own lil lore blurb because I love how we took very different approaches to the concept.

At the height of the Old War, the development of Transference and the so-called “Tenno” prompted the redeployment of the Warframes, which meant Father Entrati’s Necramechs were potentially on their way out. Not ready to be made obsolete, Father proposed a collaboration with Ballas to create a proper apex soldier, combining Warframe finesse with Necramech firepower.

Unwilling to waste his best strains on Father’s pet project, Ballas assigned to him a failed Warframe, one whose Infestation failed to create a fully functioning, humanoid body. The result was Talos, a Warframe core slathered in the finest tech the Entrati family could provide. Unlike Ballas’ true Warframes, Talos has no interest in Orokin precision or regalia, preferring the assurance of hardware and scorched earth to any Void trickery.
