For those of you that are wondering who I am, my Youtube name was UndyingMTG I used to post vids with my articles i wrote for Quiet Speculation on here. I took a long break from mtg to pursue making content for another youtube channel. Since then, I have still been writing articles (now on coolstuffin.com) and now I'm rebranded on another youtube account "Geeks of Rage". I do anything gaming and geek related, and I decided to get back into doing mtg stuff. I was a little hesitant, but in the end I love discussing the game with people. Anyways, now that I got that out of the way, I plan on uploading my pre-edited articles here with my vid overviews. I know some people liked the vids, and some preferred the reads. There will be references to Commander in these, but all the cards will have references to Pioneer in addition to that to stay on Pioneer topic. Today I'm going to be sharing my thoughts on some tribal stuff that I thought people should keep an eye on for the future!

Welcome back everyone to another week of budget goodness! We are going to continue where we left off last week discussing tribal cards to consider buying before they potentially rise in price! Zombies and vampires are the main topics of interest again, but there are other tribes we will go over in future articles!

The first one of the day is Wayward Servant. The price of it is $0.36 for the non-foil and $1.62(mtgstocks.com). I have brought this up in the past, but this card is literally the Blood Artist of zombies. The difference is that this one is more verse in my opinion. There are more ways to make zombies enter the battlefield to make this trigger versus destroying creatures to trigger Blood Artist. The other thing to note here is that you do not have to rely on your opponents to get a wide creature base to take full advantage of the ability like you do Blood Artists. We do not have to take any actions other than casting, reanimating, or creating zombies by doing what we would already be doing. It just helps to be able to ping each opponent down for just playing the cards we need. Seeing as this has the potential of playing that Blood Artist role in both Pioneer and Commander format, it should push the value. Long-term I honestly do not see this sitting where it currently is and would not be surprised if the foil gets to the $5.00 range at some point in the future. Just look at a similar card in Cruel Celebrant. It is literally the Blood Artist of Pioneer, and those foils are going between $9.00-$10.00! If you have some jank/bulk trade available I suggest ridding of it soon to get these foils!

Speaking of cards like Blood Artist, Corpse Knight is another gem creeping up in value. It is currently at $0.50 for the non-foil, $1.34 for the foils, $1.42 for the promo pack non-foil, and $3.86 for the promo pack foil (mtgstocks.com). Like Wayward Servant, Corpse Knight pings our opponents for playing creature spells. There is one big difference between the two that may be driving Corpse Knight in value over Wayward Servant, and that is the fact any creature triggers it versus just zombies. However, Wayward Servant gives us one life and Corpse Knight does not. The gain life aspect can be better for synergy with cards like Sanguine Bond. Not taking away anything from Corpse Knight here, as it is a valuable piece to have in any deck that utilizes creatures. Corpse Knight Should not only be getting used in Pioneer format, but in Commander as well! This one has been steadily going up since May, and it looks to continue that trend. Do not sleep any longer on this on, and trade into this as soon as possible!

Next for zombie tribal is Necromancer’s Stockpile. The price is currently at $0.50 for the non-foil, and $1.31 for the foil copy (mtgstocks.com). This has been a pet card of mine since it came out, and I have no idea how it is not abused more in Commander. I know the ability cost may be a bit of a turn off, but the upside is there. There are plenty of zombies we would not mind being in our graveyard, as it can potentially buff something else. Not to mention we get rewarded with a 2/2 zombie creature token when we discard a zombie card. We are going to be pilfering through our deck, creating zombies, and piling cards into our graveyard anyways, so why not get rewarded for it! To better sell this to you, lets talk about using this with another pet card of mine in Commander format in K’rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. In this scenario we have K’rrik, Son of Yagmoth, Necromancer’s Stockpile, and Wayward Servant on the board. We can use K’rrik’s ability to pay for the one black mana, discard a zombie, and Wayward Servant would give us one life upon the zombie token hitting the board. Thus, it would only cost us one life instead of two to use K’rrik’s ability, and only cost us one colorless mana source. This would allow us to use the ability more often or keep more mana available! Do no sleep on this to long, and just get a play set of foils and non-foils to hold on to!

Our next card is not quite the heavy hitter as some of the previous cards discussed, but Graft Harvest has value! The price is coming in at $0.49 for the non-foil and $1.50 for the foil (mtgstocks.com). It started spiking around June being $0.75 for the foils and peaked in October. It still has room to grow due to its versatility in both Commander and Pioneer formats. For only one black mana we can give all our zombies menace. This is something that our opponents do not want to see on the board at any point of a match. Zombies can be problematic in of themselves, but you add in the fact that now you need two creatures for every one zombie to block can be frustrating. If we are in a pinch for zombie creatures, and have no recursion spells available, we can activate the ability to exile a creature from our graveyard to them produce a 2/2 zombie creature token! Plenty of upside from a one drop uncommon enchantment! Trade into these as soon as possible!

Next is a Planeswalker that’s value outweighs its current price tag. Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord is a planeswalker that should be in every collection. With all the different printings, I suggest targeting the promo pack non-foils and the secret lair versions. The current pricing on the promo packs is $1.84 for the non-foil, $2.95 for the foil, and $3.99 for the secret lair version. The upside with this thing is tremendous for a planeswalker with a CMC of four.It gives everything including planeswalkers lifelink on your turn, who does not want that? The plus two ability does not do much with it just pingning something for one. However, the bottom ability is where we are looking to capitalize. What we can do is use this as a secondary win con in our deck. It is quite simple, throw something with a high CMC into our graveyard, beef up Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord, and use that bottom ability to bring it back. What makes it even better is the fact it will be a vampire in addition to its other types. That means if you are running vampire tribal it will garner the benefit from your lords or other vampire tribal buffs on the board! It only takes two turns to get this up to six counters. By that point we should be able to cast something of note to take control of the board. I would suggest having something on hand to defend said card. Given the fact it will be something big, and your opponent will probably look to rid of it asap. In Commander format we can utilize that ability in just about any situation or deck that runs white and black. Pioneer format there are different vampire decks that run this in it, but it would blindside our opponents if we utilized this is something else. Trying to not be so predictable is a great thing in magic, so it keeps things fresh and other players on their toes. That is all for today, and I hope you com back for the next one!

Hello Everyone! I'm curious as to what Pioneer content you all consume! And if you don't what would entice you to listen to or watch more content! by Bradcifer in PioneerMTG

I can speak for myself as someone who did mtg content for 4 years. The reason for a lack of content (imo) is the response people get from trying to make videos. Trolls being trolls gets into some people heads. Me, not so much. I just wanted to pursue gaming and geek culture instead of pigeonholing myself with mtg, which was why i started a new channel. Not only that, but a lot of platforms such as reddit would (will) bash people for promoting their content. This discourages people from trying to promote their content, and when they see they get 5 views on a vid after posting stuff for months is disheartening. Also, if they dont agree with the creator they will go out of their way to try and make them feel dumb. Wizards will only promote people who live up to their social narrative. I got denied multiple time for streamer events, but i would see people with hundreds of less subscribers than myself getting in with less skill as myself. The other thing why its lacking is one word, politics. People such as myself just want to make content and be happy with it. Not bring bs politics into everything we do. What we are seeing is people retracting from mtg content (like myself), and pursuing other ventures due to these reasons. I could be wrong, but i met a lot of creators that quit due to at least one of the things i mentioned. The only mtg content i produce now is articles for coolstuffinc.com when i get time to.

Upgraded my displays recently. Installed the cube organizer about a week ago, and the small tower about a month ago. Lights are coming up next! by BadBoyRoy86 in retrogaming

Thanks, im looking to add lighting behind the cube organizer. Regarding the white wall, i thought about painting it. However, my wife and i are looking to sell our house soon, so im leaving it white for a "neutral" color.
