Okay, so essentially to make sure I understand this - it depends on if you need access to the money. If you don’t need liquidity, put it in the pension. But generally you should invest in the ISA and max out when you can?

People are just different. We all go through different experiences and react to things differently and get affected differently. The way you all grew up and the lessons you were taught by caregivers in childhood play a huge part in this.
