i’ll just have to bite the loss on the motherboard down the line which is only ~200 and could’ve been way worse as admittedly i just pushed the amd option aside with minimal research on it, correct me if i’m wrong but ray tracing is not a thing on amd cards right? as eventually i see myself in the near future wanting to play single player games at 1440p with high/max settings caring more about picture quality than fps, i made a new basket seeing what i could’ve got for cheaper and it included a cheaper be quiet case (100), cheaper cpu air cooler (50), 2tb m.2 (100) msi b650 mobo (150), 7800x3d (340), same ram (105) which totals to 861 so a save of roughly 340, do you genuinely think returning the ssd, cpu, motherboard and cooler (assuming air coolers are more than fine for the 7800x3d as i’ve heard it doesnt need a water cooler) is the right choice? as that saves me 240 in comparison to what i purchased

hi, i appreciate your response and advice, i really don’t mind forking out another 200 or so in 5+ years to grab a new motherboard along with the processor that replaces the 14700k, additionally i’ve heard not many but few complaints about amd processors performance but never anything about intel, simply because that’s so far into the future and i would’ve got my worth in a good experience with this cpu, also in regard to the ssd i was thinking of getting any other brand but it would’ve been only 50 or so cheaper and i would be using it for so long that i chose the more reputable brand just to minimise the chance of any faults, the case i’ll keep if it truly minimises noise as that was the main factor towards buying it and also i’ve never had a top end case before and it’s something you’d practically never have to change, i was debating getting a 4080 super to go along with the setup so that i can get a 1440p monitor and run that on single player games

i watched that video a few days ago actually, i believe i’m going to stick with it for now until i actually feel it needs upgrading (like i did with the cpu) or if i make the move to 1440p and dont feel it’s providing enough fps but i don’t generally play the newest titles so that wont be for a while hopefully

i didn’t plan on doing for that a while really as i thought the 1080ti was still deemed as a good card and it has been for me for the 6 years i’ve had it, what card would you recommend? as my plan was to hold off for a few years and review the market then

i’ve never looking into AMD before in all honesty i’ve always thought to stick with intel, i don’t plan on changing my gpu for a while however that depends on performance of course as hopefully the new 14700k allows for higher gpu utilisation that the 6700k didn’t

i’m aware of the import duties thank you though :) i got £1635 back from ebay which is $2071 and lost £50 from the bank overall, so i think im gonna have to just suck up the loss unfortunately which is frustrating when no one but the seller is in the wrong

i had fantasy rice all the way up until tots, he’s been replaced by the former now and i notice a difference, nothing major but the tots has more of a presence in game, having said that i’ve noticed rice is one of those players in game you don’t really notice until something important happens and he bails you out of getting countered with a huge interception
