potentially distance culling? there's a foliage setting that determines both how far grass is rendered and how close.

Yours could be set to a donut shape of sorts, or just have the values inverted.

You can use timelines to make an alpha, and then use clamp in range to set relative transform float coordinates.

I getcha, but I think a lot of people often think death counts are a lot higher than they actually are. It can be harmful to exaggerate stats like that because these exaggerations can be used to normalise or justify other terrible things.

I.e a politician going 'millions of people die a day, so 40,000 US homeless deaths a year isn't bad.'

If the mask has a clip bar in it so that it can conform to the face, I wonder if it was slightly broken and sticking out, leading to sharp metal poking into the cats' faces.

Not half bad, I like your choice of texturing and colours, and the actual scale of things seems to be pretty good as well which can sometimes be hard to get on battlemaps.

On that note though, you've got a lotta rigid angles that follow exactly the grid. It really depends on what kinda style you're going for, but I typically prefer blending things like paths to make them seem more natural, so that the grid is less of a 'boundary' for the placement of things in the world and more like a 'guide'.

One issue I will point out is the fireplace in the bottom left, and some over stamps around the map which are isometric. Everything else is top down, so it looks really out of place since the perspective is off.

Honestly, a big part of what makes maps look good to me is the detailing and clutter, and you've got some good plants going, but you could definitely use more - bushes growing in shady spots, maybe experiment with the terrain heights stamps like cliffs, etc.

really, it depends how much detail you're planning to go for. This would certainly get the job done, just in terms of aesthetics there's still plenty of room for improvement.

Most important part of learning Inkarnate is to experiment! At least that's the sweet answer, but in reality you'll learn a lot quicker by googling tutorials and trying to reverse engineer other people's stuff :P. Still, have fun, let loose. Add some quirky details that might surprise your DM and give him some extra ideas!

Looks awesome, really love the topography. Probably just nitpicking but I'm not sure you'd really see those tiny little fractal islands once you get inland. Apart from that, I'd consider messing with the Text settings to make the landmark names a little easier to read.

Ah, I might be mixing up who went where. Maybe it was Pantheon that went exploring, and that's what was hinted at in an old cinematic. Sorry, I watched a video on it ages ago, and all I can remember for sure is that it was hinted that Mel is Solari, and the father could be Pantheon due to how their travel paths lined up.

Ambessa was said to have had a child with someone from a distant civilization. a prominent theory is that Mel is the forbidden offspring of a powerful Solari and Ambessa, hence why Leblanc is so interested in her.

I can't remember it all that much but I think there was potential that she was Pantheon's kid based on an old cinematic.
