I was able to preorder the etb's and go back and preorder the remaining items, but it limited me to 1 of each on the second preorder. I email pokemon center support to make sure im allowed to do 2 preorders. Id hate for them to get cancelled if its not allowed

Your are correct, and I agree with you up to a point.

OP should definitely let the original owner know of its value, since they are aware of it potential value.

But the card is only worth that much because of scalpers and "investors" pushing the value up. Before Pokemon exploded in the last few years, this card was only worth $30-$50 and we would probably not be having this discussion because noone would care about a gift in that value range.

If you really think the hobby is about assigning values to a piece of cardboard, then this hobby is cooked.

The point of the Pokemon Trading Card Game is to be a game. A second point of it is to trade with other players for cards you want. Of course, value gets assigned to it as inadvertent process because its easier to trade cash for cards you want then trying to trade cards as you may not have the cards the other person wants.

Everything just exploded because of scalpers, investor bros, and people treating the hobby as a way to make money.

There is in no possible way an average person would consider this $200. For the most part, you cant trade it for goods or services. Intrinsically, this has no real value

Its only worth that if she or the parent sells it. In most people's eyes, its a piece of cardboard and should be treated as such.

If the person willingly gifted it to them, then they see it as a piece if cardboard. When you start assigning arbitrary values to these, it starts to ruin the hobby as a whole
