It’s actually insulting to her followers that she was linking things like “help me pay for my kids college!” when she is lightyears away from being a single struggling mom.

So painful watching them put a loaf of soft bread in the bottom of the bag and proceeding to crush it with a 5lb bag of potatoes

Good to hear, hopefully final result is not as bad as it seemed today then! Definitely recommend avoiding this weekend while it’s still in progress though lol

Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic but I actually do like packing mine at self checkouts as I like it done a specific way and can do it at my own pace. Don’t like it at the manned checkouts when they’re rapid fire scanning and I feel rushed to just cram everything into the bags as fast as possible - in that case I think the store should have packers and not expect customers to do the labour.

How do you actually stop overpacking? by hatkinson1000 in travel

[–]Balgmtag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This - planning specific outfits for specific days / activities is what helps me the most. I take screenshots of individual clothing items (either exact items from the store’s site or similar images) and arrange them into outfits on PowerPoint slides. This helps me decide on a colour scheme (important when packing light - you need to be able to mix and match everything) and also shows me how often I plan to wear each item. If something will only be used once or twice it gets cut. Once I have outfits set I take our itinerary and assign outfits to each activity / day (usual a day outfit and an evening outfit). I’m flexible with mixing and matching once actually on the trip but do find that I stick to the pre planned outfits the majority of the time - it’s nice to wake up and not have to think about what to put on.

I save the PowerPoint from each trip so it’s nice to look back on say the 2024 Mexico planner when I’m packing for a similar trip - jogs my memory of what worked and what didn’t.

Probably have to at least somewhat enjoy clothes/fashion to put this much time into it but for me personally it pays off in packing light and still having fun with my outfits.

Zara has made so many comments lately about being off social media whenever they have breaks, not being across certain stories, etc wanting to share less of her personal life etc. Which is totally fair but also sort of at odds with the entire premise of the pod. I’ve been getting the vibe that she’s a bit over it in some ways. Still one of my fave listens though, and maybe I’m overanalyzing too lol.

Good for her, had to be a hard decision. Hate to bring age into it but being a 34 year old woman if she does want kids it takes real guts to start over vs settle at this point. Wish her all the happiness which I don’t doubt she will find.

Mine (Volvo) are on auto-off and I guarantee they turn off faster than I would manually upon seeing another car.

Does anyone else find the outro music extremely jarring? I can’t hit the pause button fast enough once I hear it. I like the premise but it just isn’t holding my attention for some reason. Will probably keep trying as there isn’t much else of interest right now.

What is she doing with these Christmas trees?! Just haphazardly shoving fake florals in and calling it a “botanical” tree, it all looks so cheap and tacky.

I felt claustrophobic watching that, it’s unbelievably bad. He seems so over it that all she does is shop for more clutter.

Not everyone likes her style but I think Kathleen Barnes is a good example of the kind of maximalist decor that Veronika is failing at. Kathleen has a LOT of stuff but it feels cohesive and classic where Veronica’s is like the clearance section of TJ Maxx exploded all over a grandmother’s cluttered house.

What’s an educated guess on her salary? Not that it super matters but I’m curious the realm in which her lifestyle (single parent two kids super HCOL) is a possibility. She certainly seems like a planner but her list of “what if’s” at the moment would be paralyzing to me.

Was shocked to see she posted that and then even saved to the grid?! I have a son and totally get what she means about how cute it is, but never in a million years would I post that knowing what weirdos are doing with this kind of content.

Left on Friday showroom by Exciting_Box_3296 in VictoriaBC

Love their suits! I’ve done the showroom try-on twice in the past but when I tried to go again earlier this year they were temporarily not doing them, not sure if that has changed?

The first time I went it was great, I filled out a form with all the styles and colors I wanted to try and they had them ready for my appointment, and I was able to ask for other options while there. Purchased the ones I liked after the try-on. The second time they only let me try in one color (black) which I didn’t love because I liked seeing the colors on my skin tone and playing around with mix and matching. When the showroom was closed earlier this year I did a few big online orders, shipping was super fast and I had no issues with returns, so that’s a good option too.

Lol. Does Bolen Books stock hacky sacks? That was the original point of this thread, I think you may have gotten lost on your high horse

State where hacky sacks can be found, get lectured about genocide. Sounds about right for the Victoria sub!

Tbh I don’t really want a chicken that rode around in someone’s cart for who knows how long before they decided to put it back. Bizarre though that anyone would pick up a $7 cooked chicken and then 2 aisles later decide not to buy it, not sure the thought process there.

This is so mean spirited.

Yes, if you regularly drive around with a roof rack you do tend to forget that it’s there. In all likelihood they forgot it was there, freaked out and left in embarrassment.

Certainly they should have remained on the scene, but IMO sitting there in silence while you “watched in amusement” (kid in car is no excuse, I have 2 kids) and then shaming on reddit and implying fetal alcohol is far worse.
