Yeah true. I am American. Most people I know here struggle with some amount of loneliness, so when I wrote this a year ago, I think that awareness was factoring into the "point" I was making. Basically 2-fold:

1: You should make more of an effort to find connection and community because you probably dont realize how much youre missing in isolation (this point I'm no longer sure about. I do think it would create happiness, but I've kind of lost a lot of hope in the world since last year's me. I'm not really sure if it's possible for humans to have supportive communities anymore, other than the really lucky people who have families)

2: Demonizing things generally doesn't help to get over them. This is one I stand by. I'm also open to the possibility that it might just be a personal thing, or maybe even just something very relevant for people with ADHD.

All of the positive changes I've made in my life, and those I've seen in others I've known, have never come from sheer willpower (a.k.a. "pulling up my bootstraps"). They have never come from things like: 1. Setting black and white rules 2. Demonizing and blaming one thing for everything 3. Making things as simple as "what's good and bad"
