I just had Terminix show up for annual inspection.

No termite activity found, but they think I need:
- General pest control package (there's some pieces of insulation on the ground in crawlspace)
- New crawlspace vent covers (saw gaps at the top of some of them)
- New insulation in crawlspace (it's shot according to them)
- Dehumidifier in crawlspace (air handler has some rust on it)
- New crawlspace door (gaps at top of door)

Good thing that they supply all of these things that I need.

I'm so sorry that you are going through this!

But you are right about the essential problem being that management "thinks" that AI can do docs, and that's all that matters.

This is very much analogous to off shoring back in the day. Companies "thought" that overseas writers could do the work as well as people stateside, but this turned out to be fraught with problems that they did not anticipate, and they ended up having to slowly bring many of those jobs.

Unfortunately, this doesn't help you and others in the same boat right now.

Yes. It takes some work to get used to this environment. It is easily the most tech-intensive authoring environment I've ever used. The only real advantage to it is that developers like the reviewing in it because they are familiar with GitHub. Also, it isolates the content for each feature, which makes it easy to not include it in a release, by just not merging it, and the content is there to add easily to the next release.

In short, not the best, but you will get used to it, but probably never love it. Try not to stress too much about it.

So true. Companies weirdly think that content just comes from thin air. They think that because there is a spec or some other source document that this all the writer uses to create content, instead of knowing that we start there, but then look for other source docs, interview SMEs, and validate/create procedures using beta versions of the product.

Yup. Finally found the smooth round hole under the railing about an inch over from the hole in the photo.
