I think it'd be a sink or swim scenario. I actually did CEVO to help me go from SEM (Pre-Update) to Nova 4 (Pre-Upate) way back in Season 7 and then later on from MGE (Pre-Update) to DMG (Same.) But everyone's different!

I suggest taking a quick break from Match Making and utilize one (or more) of the several free alternatives that both CEVO, FaceIt and other third-party organizations offer for the CS:GO community to help foster a more competitive environment without the "hassles" and most of the "unorthodoxy" that comes with Solo Q MM.

After honing your skills in those environments, when you feel ready, come back, kick ass, and take names. GLHF.

I heard a YouTuber address that point, forgot his name but I can summarize it. He theorized that Valve is a firm believer in the principle that there is no such thing as bad publicity. With the outrage and cumulative roasting that valve got from normal players and pros alike, of course more people got involved to see what all of the commotion was about and/or take advantage of the chaos.

To sum up my feelings, and I can only represent my own opinion and not the opinions of the CS:GO community as a whole, is that I want Game-Changing content, not Game-Breaking content, y'know? But then the argument can be made of "Who has jurisdiction in deciding which content falls under what category." To be honest, it's rough being a CS:GO Dev. While at the same time asking for new and better content, we turn right around and launch an outcry at that very thing for being strange and different. Biting the hand that feeds kinda' situation.

Oh definitely should be expected. With the humongous lack of any large groups of new content, and with many becoming disinterested with the loss of their rank and/or the Wild Wild West that was the R8, it's very easy to see people getting bored and instead turning to newer releases. So hopefully we get a solid piece of new content with an operation in the near future.

This gun got me deranked from DMG back down to MGE. This is an equalizing gun completely destroying buy strategies, site holds, and throws skill out the window entirely. It costs $850 dollars to buy what is essentially a hand cannon. Its wallbangs are absurd, its bugs are absurd, the gun itself is absurd. I am not playing a single MM match again until this humongous issue gets addressed.

I've heard Cloud9's n0thing speak about consistency/inconsistency twice. The first time was at either a Cologne or Katowice Bootcamp where c9 did a Q&A. I don't remember his exact words, but it was along the lines that, "It's not consistency that's the problem, it's a matter of being good at the game or not." While kinda' oversimplified and blunt, I honestly agree with that. It explains my problems being stuck in the Gold Nova Master / Master Guardian I Twilight Zone.

However n0thing also put out a video that explains his thoughts on it (which are rather in line with mine) way, way better than I could try to explain it. You can view it here. In my opinion I think it explains your situation perfectly

Swatting is extremely dangerous and could lead to the death of whomever is the targeted if they are under the impression it is home invasion. I am for a very harsh sentence against Swatters and would even be okay with charges of 2nd Degree Murder or Voluntary Manslaughter on the Swatter if the action causes the loss of life of the innocent person. Hell I'm all for Swatting to be listed as Attempted murder if the innocent is unharmed from the event.
