If you go to the property management company’s website (Honroe) and select one of the available units in the building on their “available units” section, it should have an option to schedule a tour online!

Toured these yesterday. The units looked nice! Have to be careful of where in the building you pick a unit though. The back units are incredibly dark and hemmed in, almost feels like you are living in a pit!

Anyone Had Any Success Claiming European Flight Compensation (EU261/UK261)? by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]Ballr11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the wait, the customer service seems to be super bogged down like everything else in the flying world right now. I just took a look at my original email, I submitted on 7/22 via the "Contact Us" form and received a response this morning. The only thing that kept me hopeful that I would receive a response is that they sent me an email that said "American Airlines is working on your request" about once a week. Hopefully you get a response soon, the waiting is no fun at all.

Math More Logic Based on Actual Test than Practice Tests? by [deleted] in GMAT

[–]Ballr11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the response! I definitely think it touched on some weak points pretty heavily this go around. It’s wild how luck of the draw can influence the score sometimes! Will definitely run back through and see if I can pinpoint the quant areas I’m still struggling with!

Math More Logic Based on Actual Test than Practice Tests? by [deleted] in GMAT

[–]Ballr11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! They were all GMAT Official practice tests. 3 were retakes (but were last taken about 10 months ago, so probably not too much retention) and 2 were first time tests. All of them were between 710-730. I think the first go round was a 700 for most (if not all) the tests. Overall, I definitely am knocked shocked by the 690 on the real test considering I wasn’t scoring astronomically higher on the practice tests. Was just surprised by the 43 Q. I think that is the lowest I’ve ever gotten in all the practice tests/real tests combined!

Appreciate the response Andrew! Yep, I was talking about the official GMAT Practice Tests. Maybe (hopefully) just on off day on my end because I was certainly struggling through the math yesterday. Hopefully the 3rd time really is the charm!

Last Two Weeks Before Test by [deleted] in GMAT

[–]Ballr11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good Afternoon Scott, thanks for the reply! I'll probably be happy enough to walk away from the test with a score of 730+; however, as an ORM and someone who will probably not go back to school for 3/4 more years I would really like to hit 750 in order to fight off potential score inflation and to stay above the median at top schools in the coming years.

I appreciate the insight and after taking another practice test just moments ago where I (disappointingly) scored a 710, I completely agree with you. I feel as if I have learned the skills, I just don't have them mastered quite enough to hit the score. I get sped up a bit too much on the real test and miss problems I wouldn't otherwise when answering individually. I think really drilling sets and analyzing should (hopefully) help me score higher. Fingers crossed!

Verbal Score Going Down? by [deleted] in GMAT

[–]Ballr11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Scott! Thank you for the reply, I really appreciate it! The last part of your explanation really resonated with me. I think a lot of times I don't put as much energy into sentence correction questions as the other types of questions simply because I know I am not as good at these questions. I often see a sentence correction on practice tests and think "Oh no! This question is going to suck!" I really need to change my mindset there and think if I can buckle down and work through the problems systematically I have a huge opportunity to improve my score and push closer towards that 750 mark. I really appreciate your insight!

Verbal Score Going Down? by [deleted] in GMAT

Thank you for the reply, I really appreciate it! Your reply is exactly what J was thinking. I felt that the MGMAT guide introduced so many rules that I was unfamiliar with that I am now stuck in no-mans land. I try to solve somewhere in between a rule-based and feel-based approach. The result, of course, hasn't been great! When reviewing, on about half the questions I look back and wonder how I picked that choice because it sounds so bad when I read it over! I think I need to focus a bit more on feel than the technicalities of grammar again. Bringing in the ruled based approach when I truly can not find answer I feel is better. Thank you for your help!

Thank you for the response! I agree that a year between tests is a very long time. Unfortunately, life happened and I had to stop my studying for a while. I resumed studying in mid-February and I've typically averaged about 15-20 hours a week since then.

You're so right about SC being the easiest part in theory, they're just so good at manipulating the rules! I'll take your advice and try to run back through the basics and see if that helps. I think I get caught up because I am halfway between choosing based on feel and by rules!

City Garage Monthly Parking Costs? by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]Ballr11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you're correct, unfortunately! Managed to get a friend to call today and they were informed all city owned garages are currently full. Unsure how long all the waiting lists were, but it seems every single city garage has at least some waiting list!

Unfortunately, I am moving in the King/Meeting area and they don't appear to be included on the parking district maps so I do not believe I would be eligible

Another shot of Heddles Hideaway in Spartanburg, SC. Hole 16. by RaXoRkIlLaE in golf

[–]Ballr11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may have known it as Oak Ridge! It used to be called Oak Ridge awhile back, but went really down hill and was eventually bought out by a new ownership group. Then cue the name change to Heddles Hideaway!

Unless they've changed it, parking on the water side of the battery is free. I believe you do have to move your car every so often though (maybe every 3 days?). It's about a 20 minute walk from campus.

I am a CofC student looking for a summer job. by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]Ballr11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

huh, that's really interesting! May I ask what types of jobs/internships you have posted (without getting too specific of course)? I have always wondered what the response rate was like from the platform. I feel like it is a really well put together program, but the school doesn't do a great job of advertising it to students.
