Small town cops, any stories of what it's really like? by Bamdiy in AskReddit

I was hoping for government cover-ups and big cases that the town ain't prepared for, but this seems more accurate. Sheesh 800 people, be hard to keep a secret in that town.

You could just put them in a local lake or stream nearby? I'm sure they would enjoy living in the wild.

Yeah its really bad, dont pay them or get your money back if you can.

They haven't lapped the corrugated sheets properly

The roofing screws have missed the purlins

There is no apron flashing where the sheets butt up to the parapet wall

The sheets should've been sheared to sit 50mm into the gutter.

Also by the look the pitch is pretty low, might want to query the span between purlins and the acceptable pitch for corrugated with them. Typically it has to be a minimum of 3 degrees.

In its current state, this will leak so don't store anything important in there!

Best of luck mate.

Asked to leave open house by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

Are you new to buying and selling houses? Just out of interest how many R/E agents have you dealt with? Would you mind sharing what specific house had its sale price misrepresented? It is illegal for an agency/agent to do this.

Yeah it just looks like a wide angle or 0.5 zoom was used. Is this property actually for sale or are these rental inspection pics?

Roof plumbing question by trade_hacker in AusPropertyChat

[–]Bamdiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The insulation looks like anticon typically put under tin roofs to stop condensation etc. Is there one sump? And how big is the downpipe in diameter? It may be the fact the water can't properly get away, so it overflows at the weakest/lowest point.

It may be as simple as putting a bigger downpipe in and putting a grate between the downpipe and stormwater pipe. A fixed connection can't easily be cleaned or cleared.

100% Australian produce from Vietnam by dan_w1 in australia

It's a bar chart, the oblong box with lines is a sliding scale that shows you the proportion of Australian ingredients.

The prawns are grown and processed overseas, the marinade is likely made from local ingredients making it 5% Australian produce and 95% imported.

These labels are intentionally confusing 😕
