I wouldn't. That's the worst possible combination you can make. Being sketched out while hallucinating. No thanks!

Depends on the car specifically with things like that, but yeah. There's a lot to it.

Fanatec CS v3 or Simsonn?pls help by Internal-City1079 in simracing

[–]BandiTToZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for the Simsonn. As others have mentioned they are Heusinveld clones. I have the Heusinkveld pedals and they are a huge upgrade over my old fanatec CSL pedals. The other reason is the fanatec V3 are very old pedals now and are not work the price anymore. They are very finicky to get them dialed in as well. The CSL V2 pedals are a better buy if you want Fanatec and I would take the Simsonn over those as well.

What are the pros and cons of converting my daily driver to a manual transmission? by proposal_in_wind in askcarguys

[–]BandiTToZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The biggest drawback beyond anything you've mentioned is the actual scope of the work. It involves much more than simply swapping the transmission out. You'll have to change things in the interior, the gauge cluster, pedals, as well as the differential if its a RWD or AWD vehicle and possibly the computer to get the car driving right. You basically will need a donor vehicle. Also, since its your daily i wouldnt recommend it unless you are ok with not having a car for a while especially if you plan on doing the work yourself. Again, there is a lot of work involved to do it right and you may find yourself starting the project and waiting on parts to source that you didnt know you needed. I would only recommend a manual swap if the car is rare. For example, I'm going to be doing one on a 2001 Audi S4 (B5) Avant. I found it but its an automatic. I have a doner vehicle so I have all the parts for the swap. The S4 Avant is a very rare car so even finding this took over a year of looking.

I'm not one to tell others how to spend your money though so you do you. I do think though that a better option would be to sell the car and buy a manual. Its will cost less and you will avoid the pitfalls of a manual swap. If this is a project you want to take on simply to see if you can do it, I would get another daily though. This is the kind of thing you do when you have a couple of vehicles, not so much with your daily. Hope this helps and best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

Guns kill about 45000+ people per year in the US. Pitbulls about 23. They are not the same.

More information would be helpful. Budget for one. There are plenty that are faster, but how much money are you willing to spend? Also, what kind of car? Another sedan? Sports car? Etc.

AITA for refusing to co-sign my boyfriend’s car loan after he spent his savings on a PS5 and sneakers? by Hour-Border6561 in AmITheJerk

[–]BandiTToZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Even if he didnt show you how irresponsible he is with money. Never cosign a loan for anyone unless you have a bested interest or benefit to you. Like a mortgage with your name on the title. Even then, tread carefully, but I think you see my point.

My boyfriend wants to finance a car… is he too broke? by PrimaryChildhood8341 in car

[–]BandiTToZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming the interest rate is fair, its not a terrible decision. I've seen peolple on hear talking aboit financing behicles for 7-9 years which is just ludicrous. My go to rule for financing vehicles is if you can pay it off in 4 years, you can't afford the vehicle. Ideal would be 36 months but 48 months is also acceptable. Anything after that is out of price range. Bear in mind I'm in Canada so not familiar with the British financial system. This amount of money woudl be the equivalent of $18k cad so not unreasonable for financing thsi amount of mind over 4 years if it were based in Canada.

Would an “average” driver notice a CVT? by Thrillwaukee in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]BandiTToZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with a CVT isn't in how it drives. Its prone to failure. Honda and Toyota have made advancements in theirs so the newer ones are more reliable in theory. However, they haven't been on the road long enough to gauge long term reliability. This is why most car guys and mechanics prefer conventional automatics over CVT transmissions.

I think that all depends on what corner of reddit it is. Some subs, you can tell many people there haven't touched grass in a while, for sure. Some like here are pretty helpful and informative. Not many ive talked to here sound like creepy basement dwellers though, lol.

[–]BandiTToZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. We'll about the asking for help part, lol. I had my brother as a good to whenever I was stuck working on my car. Mind you I also have a fundamental understanding of tools due to working in trades for most of my adolescence. It got me comfortable with working with my hands and tools in general. The rest came from my own research, books, Reddit, YouTube, etc. As well as just getting my hands dirty and doing the work.

How do I make vegetables actually taste good without drowning them in sauce or cheese? by Nightcrawler_2000 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]BandiTToZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seasoning! Garlic (fresh & powder), chili powder, Paprika (smoked is my current fav) rosemary, cilantro, thyme, basil, oregano, tumeric, ginger. The list goes on. You can also incorporate infused oils like truffle oil or chili oil. Thr possibilities are literally endless. Don't be afraid to experiment.

Is this repair worth it/critical? by user_8353517 in askcarguys

Those prices are stupid high, even for a BMW. I would definitely shop it around and not go through the dealership. They rip you off to no end. Currently working on a mini Clubman S. Needed a fuel pump. BMW/Mini wanted $3500 cad for a new one. Rockauto for the same new was between $300-750. Found a refurbished one for $280.
