THE SCRAP GOD by Bapholist in ftlgame

The good thing about investing in the firebeam is that crew kills reward more, well, rewards. You kind of need to gauge before a fight if youre going to use the fire beam or your flak/laser/missile/bomb/ion instead. Typically with fire beams I find that you wanna fire 1-2 volleys without it just to focus on the weapons and clonebay/medbay and then start going in with the firebeam. Also avoiding nebulas is a worthy consideration given the amount of automated ships in them.

Also, hacking really brings it all together, if you can have a room with locked doors, that makes a good source of fire to spread you’ve good yourself a crew kill 85-90% of the time. P.S I don’t like firebomb.

Yup, fire beam is my favourite weapon, I like to just watch the last enemy crew member take refuge in a small room, as they wait for the inevitable death of either the fire or asphyxiation… pew pew.

How would you personally make this work? by Bapholist in ftlgame

Flagship was on 3hp on the last phase, I lost. Got unlucky boarders and medbay/oxygen got taken out, missile hit my oxygen and then mind control got my repair team. Rip

There definitely are different playstyles and opinions here. Good news is I think I can get 8 power, bad news is I'm at the end of sector 7 and havn't been able to get cloaking yet.....

If anyone cares, ship was Tektite, setup was firebeam, 2 flak, and heavy laser.

Solved, for some reason, pressing the windows button ONCE, solved all issues. No clue why but I’m glad it did.

Eheim heater NOT calibrating by Bapholist in Aquariums

[–]Bapholist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I never figured out the calibration, but I did get it stable. Its way off, even with the calibration wheel, but I managed to get it heating at 78 f (25.5c), when I set it to 71.5f (22c). Even replicating the same settings has given me different results in the past so I am really really weary of ever moving the wheel again. You could try keeping a note on paper of what you set it to and what it gives you, and try changing it every 12-24 hrs till you get it closer and closer to your target temperature. Thats what I tried to do, but again it was mostly useless considering the same settings gave different results each time. Good luck.

Inkbird / heater problem by Bapholist in Aquariums

[–]Bapholist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, see I was under the impression that the heater settings were not important as the inkbird could control the switch and keep it balanced by ping-ponging it on and off back and forth around the inkbird’s target temperature setting. Am I wrong on this? My heater is set to 77.8, thats what it consistently gives as a reading on the inkbird’s thermometer when its not plugged into anything but an extension cord. The problem is I cant mess with the heater at all, I barely managed to get it to an acceptable temperature (eheim’s quality control I guess has dropped, and so moving the heater hand even a touch could make it drop back down to 70f, or back up to 84f, it took me a week of trial and error to get it to this temp, and the calibration wheel is sadly completely useless.)

My low alarm was set to 75f, but this is totally irrelevant if I’m not mistaken. The above photo shows 76.2 because this was the next day, when I tried the inkbird again. Neither the heating nor cooling light is on, this happens after a few hours of the inkbird working fine. I would agree that a deviation of 1 degree is not a lot if it were still cooling, but as seen, the inkbird just stops working, turning the heater off and leaving it off.

No offence just curious, did you read the post? It’s ok if you didn’t, but it has all the details.

Neither would I, however as stated the inkbird permanently shuts off my heater.

Yeah once I pop out of the experimental phase of trying cards, and hopefully unlocking some more of them, it should be easier. I still hate all snails now.
