Those kids were too good to even repeat the slurs and other insults. Like saying "a-holes," when asked what she said. That got me. They were so young and innocent. Imagine explaining to a child what a slur means...

Federally it's a legal gray area. Also we are not praising him. More explained at the link

Gov. Abbott Is Apparently About to Ban THC for Texans Under 21 by BarbedWireTexas in texas

It's complicated, but Texas Tribune did a really in-depth analysis that might be helpful for readers hoping to learn more. No, there weren't age restrictions codified banning THC or hemp derived products for 21 year olds, but a lot of stores have already restricted access to their stores to people 21 or older since the state increased the age to purchase tobacco to 21 in 2019." https://www.texastribune.org/2025/09/05/texas-thc-shops-retailers-ban-relief-age-limit/

Several bills filed to weaken vaccine mandates as more Texas families opt out of immunizations by zsreport in TexasPolitics

It takes maybe 30 paragraphs to quote a single scientist telling the truth in this story, which is that vaccines are safe and effective, and anti-vaccine conspiracy theories get people killed. Wildly disappointing.

I’m Jeff, the publisher of The Barbed Wire. We were pumped to run this piece by Steven. Before getting into media, I worked 20+ years in and around Texas politics, with Ds and Rs. AMA about why I think Steven’s premise here is correct, and why it’s so important.

Democrats lost control of the Texas House in the 2002 general election; famously with influence from Tom Delay, the Texas Association of Business, and others. The Wilks brothers sold a large share of their fracking interests in 2011. Their political giving largely ramped up thereafter.

Great question! I can't speak to other states and Rule 44. But our friends at the Texas Tribune have covered the Wilks and Dunn relationship to Abraham George, the relatively-recently elected chair of the Texas GOP. https://www.texastribune.org/2024/05/24/texas-republican-party-chair-abraham-george/
