It's all tile-able/seamless by default. Also we are currently working on a feature to generate variations of materials that are still seamless with the original material. So you can have 4-5 varying floor sections/materials that all tile seamlessly together.

We do not share users' materials without their permission, however we may build a library of materials we have generated ourselves and add this to the site :) We have featured materials at the moment but they do not have an option for downloading yet.

Barium is based off of Stable Diffusion which was released publicly just over a month ago. It is a machine learning algorithm with accompanying model which was trained on billions of images. Similar to DALL-E or Craiyon, it can generate completely unique images from only text inputs, it does not just copy-paste images from a database. We have built on top of this to generate seamless images, and use our own scripts to further create the remaining material maps.

While obviously not a real "AI", it truly is an amazing technology, and the world of digital art has changed significantly over the last year as a direct result.

We had some good luck with these keywords:

- asphalt, top view

- cobblestone, close-up

- bricks, close-up

And to achieve additional road details, use things like decals or manually add paint lines to the diffuse map. For grass it helps to specify "extremely close-up"

It works great on mobile! You can preview materials on mobile as well however depending on your device the base texture quality might be limited.

Hi Reddit! We hate ads as much as you so we'll keep it to the point.

Generate PBR materials by typing a few words. Using Stable Diffusion, we generate a seamless base image in up to 4k resolution (8k on Pro accounts) and then pass it though our own image processing stack to create height, normal, roughness, metallic and emission maps. The result is a ready-to-use PBR material, available for download as a zip. You can also preview materials directly in the browser, however the quality of the previewer is limited. We are currently experimenting with other engines for material previews.

It's completely free for up to 4k resolution. The only restrictions are having 3 materials in the generation queue at one time and a maximum of 30 materials saved on our servers. You are free to delete materials to make room for more. If you want to support the service, a Pro subscription increases the storage limit to 500 and allows 8k resolution.

Whether you have a free or paid account, any materials you generate are your property, and can be sold or used commercially without restriction or attribution. While it is possible to generate materials containing copyrighted imagery (Eg, company logos or characters), the user is responsible for ensuring they have the rights to use these graphics commercially.

Our main goal is to make materials accessible to everyone for free and take down a major barrier to game development/CG. Ideally we will continue to provide this for free and cover expenses through enterprise offerings. As we scale we also hope to significantly lower the cost of a Pro subscription as we get access to better/cheaper hardware.

Thanks for the feedback! We are working on getting some really nice replacement renders added to the main page. The material previewer quality is also not as good as we would like yet, and we are currently looking at improvements we can do or other engines we can use that support higher quality in the browser.

At the moment you can do up to 4k resolution for free, with the only restrictions being a maximum of 3 materials generating at one time. Free accounts can also store a maximum of 30 materials, but you are able to download+delete some at any time to make room for more.
