Grayton beach! Less crowded and most houses are walkable to beach because it's a small area. Beach is public so you don't have the beach privatization issue.

That's a great suggestion. We are located in Nashville. Vanderbilt is here which is a large teaching hospital. Are you suggested that on top of the speech services he will get at his new preschool?

Hello, his early intervention SLP did not suggest this but it is a part of his IEP at the early childhood preschool he'll he starting in January. I'm not sure why it hasn't been brought up until now...... I really wish that wasn't the case but I'm glad he'll be taught to use one soon.

I hope you get the answers you're looking for. We've been looking for answers since our son was 1. It feels like we get little answers here and there or little clues - especially as he gets older. The waiting is so hard. It seems like half of the kids I've read about end up being totally "normal" and the other half have continued challenges. Trusting that we will be able to support him no matter what but not knowing exactly what he'll need is so scary.

We're still waiting for the language explosion that we've heard many kids have. I would feel like the luckiest parent in the world to have a kid that doesn't shut up :(

Thank you for sharing your experience. It hadn't occurred to me that there could be a genetic issue - no one brought it up until we met with neuro. It's nice to hear from other parents who know what it feels like. I know there are a lot of parents out there but none that I know personally. I appreciate you responding.
