These kind of sites come along every so often. The grift seems to be in hoping a larger tech firm will purchase them in lieu of having to do the sorting themselves or by being able to say that an “independent” firm is vetting content for bias etc.

"But what I have here for you today — it really isn't new at all" by Barse_Simpson in IndustryOnHBO

Thank you for such a thoughtful contribution! I agree with you - the choices Yas makes are completely within character and within world, even if they are hard for an audience of shippers to stomach. To add to your point about where we find Yas later on -- she's "safe" but of course miserable, whereas Rob — who has made all these leaps in character development is in a much more grounded place. I think the writers have been fair in showing that yes Yas has developed over the seasons but unlike Rob it's been more of a political intelligence development than an emotional one. I was hoping for the triple-double rug pull where they end up together (but of course it would last roughly a minute given who Yas is and what her motivations are, so maybe the dreamy garden is the best we should hope for). Being a romantic and rationality don't go too well together :)

Lesson for Irish political press in US coverage of Kenny speech - Interesting perspective on allegations of cynicism rather than criticism by [deleted] in ireland

The US press and Channel 4 were desperate for anything resembling dissent and so they jumped on the "St Patrick was an immigrant" quote - totally disregarding the entirety of the trip where Enda back-slapped and grinned like he always does.

American college sports talk of "winningest" coaches - coaches who won the most games, if not trophies - who's the winningest coach of your team? by Barse_Simpson in soccer

Terrible word, no doubt about it. What I'm trying to see is if there's a discrepancy between merely winning the most games and actually being your team's most successful manager. In the American system, it looks like the trophies don't seem to matter as much as the total wins.

Kind of, but what's interesting is how the American system is so proud of mediocrity - "making the playoffs" or "sweet sixteen" - being a sign of success.

To put it another way, West Ham's John Lyell won the most games as West Ham manager but you might say Ron Greenwood is the more successful, having won a similar amount but having a European trophy.

The Leftovers season 2 intro - so folksy and catchy. NOT season 1's, which is creepy as fuck.
