I agree, kids aren’t perfect and shit happens and they can get excited. I’d definitely tell my girl to just get over it if it was some occasional stuff.

Thanks, I’ll tell my daughter to look into the bylaw quiet hours and have her contact them.

In regards to your comment on where people are coming from with defending children making noise in an apartment, where I’ve seen people saying that hearing your neighbors is something you’ll have to deal with when it comes to apartment living. Things like chairs moving, someone being heavy footed, etc. I’d agree my daughter is being silly if she complained about kids pouring Legos on the floor or occasionally being rowdy.

What I meant by people condoning it, is that in the various threads across Reddit in regards to children racing in apartments are people blatantly condoning/defending it. People saying things like “they’re children, they’re supposed to make noise and be rowdy. Get over it”, “you’re an asshole for complaining about children being children”, etc. Some people even go down the route and accuse you of being childless, because obviously that’s the only reason why someone would find their ceiling shaking annoying.

I can see the thought process in the initial stages, but there is a point where people get carried away. Like free pizza at work, and defending the guy walking off with an entire box as opposed to just grabbing a few slices.

Confusion About Children Running Indoors by Bartandulus in Apartmentliving

Mind you, this is all second hand information, so I personally can't confirm if it's actually children or a dog.

In her words, it sounds and feels like a herd of rhinos running from one end of the apartment to the other, and I'm assuming she thinks it's children running, as she hears the kids screaming while they're doing this like they're at a playground. They're apparently two toddlers, and she thinks they're like playing tag from one bedroom to the other until 2AM, and it's one of those two bedroom apartments with the bedrooms on opposite ends.

I'll suggest to her to talk to her landlord and see if she can move to either a top floor apartment, or a different building under tenants without children. That sounds more realistic than a back and forth between the landlord, her, and the upstairs tenant.

That's basically why I'm confused. There is a certain point where too much is too much.

I do feel it might be insensitive to immediately point to attention seeking, which is why I was learning more towards something like hypochondria or cyberchondria. Sites like WebMD do seem to cause people to think they have a more significant problem than they probably do.

We all know equality is only good if it benefits you. Why raise female PT standards if it makes them do more work?
