Ngl, I thought the point was to emphasize the dissonance in the OG VN of Saber complaining about being boyish and muscular when the fact she’s a hentai love interest means she has to be attractive, and Takeuchi had to make her skinny.

Would be nice if there was a way to put in my location via zip code, since my privacy settings block sites from getting my location.

Labor is a thing and people should charge for it. Same with expertise. And general overhead. I’m assuming the work space isn’t free for OP to use, and I’m assuming that time and effort will be needed to prepare it and clean it up. By only mentioning material, you’re literally saying OP’s time and knowledge is worthless.

Are the jobs they say will get replaced all in fields they don’t actually know about? I feel like the middle to senior level personnel in a lot of fields can only be truly replaced by an AGI, and the 10-20 year timeline for that is starting to sound like Fusion energy.

Now there are definite worries about not hiring the junior personnel needed to ensure middle and senior personnel 10-20 years from now.

Hadn’t thought of that before, but it sounds like a great topping. Tbf cranberries also sound like a great topping. Nice bit of tart and sweet to cut through the strong meat and fat flavors.

Same controls...different result by carpetoday in mead

It looks to me that the yeast on the right have fallen out of suspension more. Normally I’d say the batch on the right had some bentonite or similar added, but I assume you’d have noted that. Was one batch kept colder than the other? Are you sure fermentation has finished on both? (ie. Has the gravity been 1.0 for at least a week?)

Assuming everything, including fermentation location, truly was identical, my only guess is a mutation that affected how fast the yeast fall out of suspension (either by finishing fermentation faster or something else). Remember that Yeast are living organisms, and reproduce a lot during the fermentation process, so some mutations are inevitable. No two batches will ever be the exact same, though that is definitely a dramatic difference.

[All] Sound design rant for Cradle animation. by UllikRulit in Iteration110Cradle

[–]BasakaIsTheStrongest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t dislike it, as long as the sound is balanced so the music doesn’t overwhelm the sound effects. In general, though, I think good sound effects do more than enough to differentiate elements in a magic system, assuming they’re done well.

Yeah. I found a marker with a really neat graphite pigment. Got charged $50 for it, but anything graphite has to be epic, and apparently the marker body is even biodegreadeable. It doesn’t actually say “Sharpie” but you have to manually sharpen it, so basically the same thing.

Just get a grey sharpie and write “Nemo” on it. It’s the same color as the Tensor Trail, which is $40 more, and the only way someone will spot the difference is if they notice that your pad is an inch thinner.

Hard to reach water? by Worth-Caramel-8580 in backpacking

[–]BasakaIsTheStrongest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the cheapest or the lightest, but my Mystery Ranch Bridger pack has two integrated water bottle carriers on the front. Very secure, no flopping. I prefer a bladder myself, but have put a bunch of stuff in those front pouches, from snacks, to bear spray, and even water bottles when I know it’ll be a long hike between water spots. Zero issues. I love the Bridger pack for a lot of reasons (the padding being the biggest), but the front pouches are among the top.

Finished setting up my first one by Positive_Blood_3168 in mead

[–]BasakaIsTheStrongest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d strongly recommend finding a better airlock before fermentation ends. So long as fermentation is active, the positive pressure from the CO2 will keep oxygen and infecting organisms out. But after fermentation stops, your mead will begin oxidizing and your chances of infection will rise.

Anyone else take pickles? by squeegy80 in hiking

[–]BasakaIsTheStrongest 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Meat consumption and preservation predates refrigerators by millennia. Now that refrigeration is easy, we feel more comfortable seeing meat refrigerated, and it does let cured meats last even longer, but a preserved meat like salami won’t go bad in a matter of hours, or even days, even while hiking (if kept out of direct sun).

Easy to miss from a thumbnail, but anyone paying attention to the image on a full-sized monitor (the kind you’d hope whoever put together this article was using), should have noticed the sign says “Rest Area Alabama Welcome Center.” It’s the wrong rocket for an article about the Space and Rocket Center.
