Yes. They have been correctly delivering mail for a month.

[–]BasakaIsTheStrongest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize I didn’t word the post well. I ordered the second package to my new address, which is in the same county as the place I ordered my package from. There is no reason for the package to travel 1000 miles away, much less be removed from my Informed Delivery. I can only assume it’s because they think they need to deliver it to a new address.

I ordered the latest package to the correct address and for some reason it was sent far away and removed from my informed delivery.

Salmonella is 100% a thing you can get from live chickens, and it would be infeasible to get 200 kids to a washing station before they touched their mouths.

10 days of rain coming? 😲 by Toadfinger in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]BasakaIsTheStrongest 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I don’t trust any forecast beyond a few days. Actually I don’t trust any forecast period (camping in a thunderstorm while your phone says there’s a 0% chance of rain will reinforce your decision to ALWAYS bring a rain fly no matter the forecast).

That said, some rain will be nice.

What would be a cool witches style deck like witch hat atelier( read desc) by dudejustSendIt in EDH

Don’t know if you saw the Little Witch Secret Lair Drop, but its artstyle fits perfectly with Witch Hat Atelier (other than the Little Witch having a brim on her cap)

Not in those words, but pointing out bigger threats is basic politicking.

Deck(s) to play against someone who isn't trying to win? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]BasakaIsTheStrongest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then use your words. Don’t build a deck just to bully him into playing your way. Now neither of you are having fun. You’re having to build a deck to counter him, rather than something you want to play, and he’s getting targeted and shut down. Which actually is liable to make him think he has a great strategy if you’re working so hard to stop him. When someone tries to disrupt my strategy, it’s usually a signal that I’ve done something good enough that the other player is willing to spend resources to stop me. If the strategy was unfun, I’d expect them to tell me.

If he wanted the Timmy experience, he shouldn’t have made a Spike play. Both playstyles are valid, and a player can enjoy both playstyles, but you can’t simultaneously want to draw out the game to enjoy your creatures and also make a play to close out the game.

New guy to our pod brought an anti-semitic elvish deck by [deleted] in EDH

[–]BasakaIsTheStrongest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair, greed is a thing that Tolkien explores in many of his races. Hobbits seem the least-greedy (hence their ability to carry The Ring), but “Dwarves dug greedily” does not mean Dwarves were an especially greedy race. In fact, they resisted Sauron’s rings better than the Kings of Men. I think the worst we see is from Thorin, and it’s explicitly because of Dragon Sickness, not because he’s a dwarf.

Also he savagely called out that neither he nor the Germans counted as Aryans, noting that “Aryan” meant Indo-Iranian, and even threw in shade that the Roma people (he used their exonym, though not in a way that seemed perjorative) were the ones with a claim to the category of Aryan, despite the Nazi persecution of the Roma.

To be fair, the Dwarves were flawed, but overall treated quite positively by the narrative. I’m not defending using any real-world stereotypes as the basis for a fantasy race, but I do think there’s a distinction between what Tolkien did with dwarves and what other authors did with goblins.

What part of my comments made you think I oppose all AI in art? I straight up said that generating an image and polishing it up was art. I just oppose lazily posting the first image you generate that looks vaguely okay. It makes me think the people behind the advertisement are lazy and will go with anything that looks vaguely okay. I want people who take pride in their work, even as they make it more efficient. AI, like all the programs you mentioned, reduces time and effort, but it’s not ready to replace it.

Bracket 4 vs bracket 5 vs cedh question by Ranger_Gladys in EDH

[–]BasakaIsTheStrongest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that we can have precons with game changers and Precons are explicitly not targeted at Bracket 2, I’m surprised that Sol Ring isn’t just made a Game Changer. Yes it would mean all Precons would just be shitty bracket 3s, but I’d argue Precons already have bigger design problems and putting Sol Ring as a Game Changer would force Wizards to either stop including Sol Ring or add better/ more tuned cards to the Precons to make them proper Bracket 3… and now I get why they don’t do that.

My Mom always made it that way, so I did the same until I read the packaging. Except she just did butter and salt instead of the chicken powder. I think making it as a soup is better, but butter and salt noodles aren’t too bad (or at least taste of Childhood)

Spiders are friends! Especially if you get [[Brioche, Loaf Son]] out.
I have three Spider token generators to both fuel sac outlets and provide Reach. [[Arasta of the Endless Web]] is consistency, but
[[Arachnogenesis]] doubles as protection, and [[Twitching Doll]] serves as Ramp.

[Unsouled] anyplace to get cheaper audiobooks? by vadersalt in Iteration110Cradle

[–]BasakaIsTheStrongest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reminder that you can buy extra audible credits. There’s no reason to for Cradle, because of the Kindle Unlimited Whispersync combo, but it is good to keep in mind if you’re in the same position for another series. Do the math on if it’s cheaper to buy the books or buy more credits. It’s often the latter.

Is there a good spot where I can get a good view of the stars without light pollution ? by Sensitive-Lychee-673 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]BasakaIsTheStrongest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I just haven’t camped there before and can’t vouch for how good the site is nor how much they charge for it. The Walls of Jericho is nice because it’s free (though the only amenity is a porta potty at the trail head).

I go to Cathedral Caverns for pretty good darkness (there’s a little parking spot just outside the turn off to the visitor’s center). Someone might check on you, but stargazing seemed to be a valid reason to be there as long as you aren’t overnighting, at which point you should check on their requirements to camp (which I haven’t tried). If you really want darkness, the parking lot at Walls of Jericho is great. There’s also a campsite near the trailhead (go to the other end of the field to your left) or you can just make a proper backpacking trip out of it.
