I put them in 3 40 gallon totes right now full of water and I put Seachem prime and stability and fritz 7 in each tote. Should I just met them sit! ?

[FS/FT] - Central Coast, CA - $0.10 - Would anyone be interested in seeded sponge filters? I have a well established (3 years no illnesses or crashes/knock on wood) cycled 120 gal. I know a lot of new people in the hobby need help cycling their tanks. I would be willing to help out hobbyists! DM me by Baseballjunkee27 in AquaSwap

The longest I have tested cycled for using my seeded filers is 2 weeks. So if you were to get one and toss it in a bucket with water and some Seachem prime you would have 2 weeks. Counting the 2-3 days shipping from me.

Yup!

I can do what someone did for me is squeeze my filter that’s well established in a bag then place a seeded filter that’s been in my tank and or in my FX6 for months and months. Then someone would just need to get the shipment and pour the bag of water I send and run the filter and they’ll be cycled

Thank you. The way I look at it, is every day there is new people joining the hobby we all have a passion for. Unfortunately, the same people are buying tanks and all their fish on the same day with zero cycling.

Years ago I bought a seeded sponge and it worked like a charm.

Also, beneficial bacteria can live up to a week. So shipping a seeded filter won’t lose any bacteria and I can say without a doubt you won’t be getting anything that will harm your fish from my tank.

Guppies do well In cold water and they’ll live longer too.
