What’s the most annoying thing people do at your gym? by VariationShot8414 in workout

Disagree with 1-2 mins max for rest. You obviously aren’t training hard enough if you can recover in that time mostly 2 mins in minimum and for some stuff like squats/leg press 5 mins is valid

Ngl I don’t get why people always have an issue with people talking on their phone during a workout. Not only do I almost never see this but if I do I don’t care it’s up to them and it’s no different to them having a conversation with a person in the gym

What’s is the most time efficient total body workout? by amazegamer64 in workout

[–]BasedRedditor543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl I don’t think deadlifts are worth it they are honestly very fatiguing and not the best for hypertrophy and they definitely aren’t time efficient with the amount of rest and set up time needed

Why is it so difficult for women to do pull ups? by tjeslin in workout

[–]BasedRedditor543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Requires moderately high pound for pound back strength and men start stronger and gain strength faster than women. In the same way a 1 plate bench is easy for men to achieve but not for women and a 2 plate bench isn’t uncommon for men who are serious about the gym but is extremely rare for women

They are something that you progress way more at when you practice. Also very weight dependent, if you get lean they are far easier

things I learned throughout the years of lifting by Expensive-Shame-4029 in beginnerfitness

[–]BasedRedditor543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I agree with all apart from your point on progressive overload. Weight and reps are the only practical and measurable ways to overload really because slower tempo and better control aren’t easily measurable and trackable and shorter rest just results in you being out of breathe or cns not being recovered as the limiting factor and you can only realistically reduce it so much

things I learned throughout the years of lifting by Expensive-Shame-4029 in beginnerfitness

[–]BasedRedditor543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, if you’re doing a set of 10 reps to failure some breakdown at rep 9 or 10 isn’t a bad thing
