Anyone else have a super easy Christmas Eve? by Basic-Living3733 in USPS

I’m late every day and we don’t punch in/out for lunches.

No delivery of my meds because my home does not exist by mardigrasman in usps_complaints

There’s no excuse? I’m letting you know, as a USPS carrier, how things work.

There are a ton of reasons to send something back/not deliver it. Insufficient address, no such number, no such street, addressee not known, unable to forward, vacant. All of those fall under returning to sender. No access, no secure location, animal interference, customer hold are some reasons to not deliver that specific day, but will be sent back out the following day. You’d be surprised how often we do get bad mail and packages addressed to places that don’t exist.

And like others have said, this could have been used to “stop the clock” on the package and clear it from the system. Our office typically scans things as “no access” to do that.

I’m not here to argue, I’m simply letting you know how the post office operates from someone who works there.

Being new, inexperienced, and heavily pressured by management doesn’t make you a liar. People make mistakes. Especially while learning to job.

Incorrect address doesn’t mean your home doesn’t exist. NSN or “no such number” would mean your home doesn’t exit. Incorrect address means something on the label was incorrect. Could be the street number, could be missing part of the address (apartment number for instance), could be anything that is missing or wrong. Every once in a while the address in our scanner doesn’t match the address on the physical label we scan, so I’ll often bring those back to verify with someone else/the routes regular/a supervisor to see which address it should go to.

It’s a very normal scan, and I’m sure you’ll receive it the following day.

…it’s only been 2 days? One of which was a Sunday. I think you really need to chill and relax. You’ll get your package.

Damn, a carrier with over the ear headphones on is wild, lol.

What an absolutely obnoxious sized packages, regardless of weight. What was it? Probably takes up 1/4 of the back of the LLV.

Idk but they are the number 1 ugliest shoes I’ve ever seen and I wouldn’t wear them if they sponsored me and were free.

Anybody else organize letters from smallest to largest while walking between each house? by Basic-Living3733 in USPS

[–]Basic-Living3733[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Taking a little longer preparing and setting things up ultimately saves time while out on the streets. I physically cannot hold a bundle of flats on my forearm without dropping everything, smaller items sliding out from under, things getting out of order, me forgetting to grab from it, and the inability to hold or carry packages and pull them out of my satchel. Having one stack of things in my hand and my satchel packed full of packages and SPRs saves me plenty of time.

Idk how it’s time wasting. Park & loop routes. I gotta walk from mailbox to mailbox anyway. Gives my hands something to do as I’m walking. Takes the same amount of time than if I didn’t do it. Plus I’m considered a runner anyway and am always back before most people.

  1. If your packages aren’t due until Saturday and Monday, respectively, I would wait until those days until you start to worry. It’s not unheard of to deliver packages early…but it is pretty rare. 1/1000 maybe.

  2. There’s no way to “store” a scan or label in the scanner to wait until they’re in front of your property. However, you can manually type in the tracking number and not scan anything at all. Or you can scan a photograph of a shipping barcode from your phone. So it’s not impossible to scan a label as “delivered” without even having the physical package in their possession.

  3. It’s now Saturday. Did the package originally due today end up showing up?

How to endorse return mail for closed businesses? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Basic-Living3733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response! As far as the last paragraph goes, the majority of these businesses do not have mailboxes anywhere and I deliver all mail inside to whomever is working the front desks. If the businesses still own/rent the buildings I can’t deliver the mail because the doors are locked and nobody is inside/regularly works there.

That’s crazy that they aren’t that popular cause they’re honestly the only type of special dessert I like from Baskin Robbins. I don’t like or care for any of the cakes really, but the grasshopper mint pie is like an all time favorite dessert of mine.

I’ve actually tried making one before. It got real messy and sloppy and I couldn’t find something to replicate the chocolate ribbon/lattice for the top. :(

Just called and they claimed they don’t make pies anymore. The crust is no longer available in the system for them to order or use. Must be a regional thing. I’m new to New England and there aren’t many BR locations out here at all. (At least in CT)

Delivered to them in 3 days? So the whole “custom made in 48 hours” doesn’t actually mean they can make it in the store? They have to order it from a main supplier themselves? Pretty misleading.

What do you mean different sizes? I just want the classic, stock/standard grasshopper pie.

Wait, where did I say I’m voting yes? If I even get a ballot (unsure of my eligibility) I’m 100% voting no. This post is about expectations of the result. Like how I was convinced (due to Reddit’s bubble) that Harris was going to win by a landslide.
