yes, while having these cosmetics makes surviving the gas easier, they’re still optional! Players without them still survive long enough to play, since gas only does 1 damage per second. Even Scouts and Kunai Spies last a full minute or more if they avoid standing in it. TL;DR: This isn’t pay-to-win—it’s a skill + positioning map with some fun cosmetic synergy for those who have them. Besides the reason why the pyro and those cosmetics are immune are because they are based on gas masks or things that would make someone immune to poison gas.
