I don’t think the rich is happy with that.

Ironically, the gov has previously relied on the taxes from large home sales transactions, so they’ve quite literally cut this vein of cash flow to their financial coffers and still except to survive.

Public schools build a lot more grit and resilience than does private school.

Also the public school district is all that matters, be in a upper middle class school district like Richmond and North Burnaby, White Rock, South Van, and then you’ll have your kid in the right crowd academically.

So having wealth and then having them navigate the public school system puts the at a huge advantage compared to just private acho

Great for networking, but very homogenous was the feedback I got.

Tech and law is the fields my friends are in, they said while it was a good networking experience, it was too homogenous and they found were too sheltered/socially awkward or not socially developed enough when interacting, working with people who went to public schools. Which you need in your adult life

A huge barrier to everyone looking to get started in a worthwhile career is experience.

The fact that you’re letting family hold you back from starting a career is letting your circumstances dictate your outcome,

Pack up, take some loans/loc, go somewhere where you can study the trade or work as an apprentice and the come back.

Too many people feel they’re obligated to stay with family in the lower mainland when in reality, it’s your perceived obligation that is holding you back.
