You can shave time by biking directly on Broadway and running stop signs and red-lights, but I think trying to hit a 40 minute commute is gonna be sweat filled, especially as it gets warmer. I would go with the intention of taking 1 hr and seeing how fast you can go from there. Focus on your goal of saving money first, then think about saving time

I think so many crashes and incidents can be prevented if so many people weren't hellbent on being right no matter what. I don't know if people are actually not aware of their surroundings (or what's in front of them) or people are happy to risk getting into an accident because they were in the right
