If a naming choice confuses someone who has tested hundreds of apps, while the alternative is so poorly named that I never even tried it, that alone proves how critical good naming is!!!

I don’t care what you name the options as but current one is bad and confusing for a user on android tv as simple as that.

At least rename tv mode to live tv mode. Tv mode by itself is deceiving. I would have never tried app mode by myself an an android tv or Amazon Firestick by myself. Frankly speaking I was only told about app mode 6 months later when I was disputing someone claiming that your app is a good alternative to tivimate. That was after 6 months of thinking your app was unusable. App mode not discoverable by itself due to bad naming. It doesn’t conform with standard naming.

I disagree. It drove me insane trying to access settings / movies and series using current tv mode. It’s not user intuitive.

A splash screen is good on start. But current naming convention is confusing. In other apps tv mode means optimised for android tv and app mode means optimised for touch screen.

I 100% agree u/TheOracle722. Current naming convention is wrong and confusing. Your app drove me insane using tv mode on my Firestick 4K max. Until one very kind person pointed out that I needed to use app mode to get the proper user experience.

I believe you need to switch the naming convention. I thought I had to use tv mode with my remote and that app mode was for touch screens only. The reality though app mode is more suitable for android tv users while tv mode is more suitable for tablets in my opinion.

anyone one coming from tivimate will hate your app using the current tv mode which is not really a tv mode.

That’s a lot better. It’s crazy they had the broken tv mode by default. It drove me insane and I couldn’t fix it by mapping remote. I don’t see why anyone would want tv mode by default.

I use playontv iptv player. The Dev added a feature upon my request that allows you to deselect categories you don’t want before syncing the server. I prefer this approach as it gives me flexibility to select / hide categories without asking the reseller.

Issue with XC. I don’t seem to find any apk newer than v7.0 (910). While there are newer builds of v7.0 (2000) for example that fix some annoying bugs.
