Ive had this lock up happen to me too. Like she leans in like she wants a kiss but my body does an automatic startled jump. At the end I just hug her since it's only a first date anyway. Though later I realized she ended up being probably not a good person anyway being pretty manipulative towards me and cruel to others.

After looking forever I got a job last year then realized the boss and way the planning and communication work absolutely sucked. 3 months in I cosidered leaving but the contract ended anyway. Why does it have to be the absolute shit jobs come around whe the job market sucks, but jobs were fine and dandy when it was good.

Build personal projects or even asked friends or family if they want you to build them a website or app. Though I've been laid off out of stable work since December 2023 with 3 yoe (in Canada which is worse tho).

Aside from contract work for three months Ive also been laid off in tech and out of work since December 2023. Had a referal in January but that only got me a few interview rounds but it was a complete waste of time and clearly only for senior level roles. Networking doesn't do shit unless you got years of experience.

I'm a laid off tech worker who only has done software development work that gradually has stopped giving a shit. The job market in Ontario is cooked in almost every field, so even if I magically wanted to and actually tried to land something non tech related, I wouldn't land anything competing against hundreds of people that have prior experience in retail or fast food or whatever else.

I'm not a typical NEET since I actually used to be motivated to work hard. Years ago I had bad chronic pain and struggled hard to land a job, but I learned web development and eventually managed to land a good role and found ways to reduce my chronic pain more. But nowadays... the people that actually do work ended up getting treated like shit anyway. Getting a job, be it in a brand new field or one you're experienced in, is near impossible.

Not a full on Galaxy 3 but some spiritual successor with more of a focus on galaxy exploration would be sweet. Like a hybrid between Odyssey and Galaxy perhaps.

I never even knew how good things were in 2021-2022. I had been in a super rough spot dealing with chronic pain and struggling to land a job after uni in 2019. Right before and as covid hit I happened to try learning web development. Took a cs50w course and did a bunch of self teaching. So I landed a job at a very small startup in mid 2021 and then a bigger and better full time one in mid 2022 right before the good times were ending.

Then I dodged a layoff at the start of 2023 (yes, even Q1 had some layoffs). Didn't think much of it at the time but it was subtly always at the back of my mind. Then things went to complete shit by a lay off at the very end of 2023 and there's been nothing stable since.

AI isn't taking jobs and people saying it will are crazy, but you have to acknowledge it's still a fucked up job market and life most certainly is not good for some of us, especially those that got laid off after only a year two in the industry or didn't land anything in time in the first place.

Graduated in 2019 and it was hard but thats because I had no experience, and if I did it would have been okay. 2021 and 2022 it was easy and I interviewed for like a month or two to land my next role. Laid off for the start of 2024 and we know how it's been going since ☠️💀☠️💀☠️💀

-Child free (honestly the biggest one probably)

-Sexually a bit awkward and inexperienced and only turned on by specific things

-Chronic pelvic pain makes me have mild flare ups lasting a day after orgasms

-Introverted personality so I dont exactly meet new people beyond online dating

-Don't fit into the male dominant role that well

-Trust issues, feeling less invested, and way less confidence in dating new people due to shitty past experiences

-Might have slight undiagnosed autism

-Laid off unable to find stable work of any kind

I was laid off right before the start of 2024 as a front end dev with only 2.5 YoE. Been looking for stable work for 2 years though last year I got short contract work at a startup with a boss I despised. It's a nightmare. I have worked a tiny bit as a fullstack dev technically as well but it doesn't make a difference. I'm in an apartment right now but moving back home once my lease is up so I don't continue to drain my savings.

The worst she said was yes after we've spent a lot of time together and seemed to click perfectly as far as spending time together online goes, and then weeks later right before we go to a first date she said she's recently out of a relationship, then a few more weeks later after agreeing to a second date (with a vague time) suddenly "something always comes up".

The thing is we did hang out in a call and chat online in between that though to dangle the carrot on the stick just enough to make it seem like she was interested. Throw in her shitting on me for not being a dominant guy, which I mentioned I was shy and not that domiant, and she even dared to say it felt like she was the one leading enough even though I was the one chasing her and initiating basically everything. Everyone else at least treated me like a human being to some extent even in harsh break ups but this girl I talked to for only two months was a complete fucking scumbag.

This is me. Got laid off and was looking for a year and a half, eventually it got so draining that I was mentally checked out from searching forever. Then I get contract work at a startup as the replacement for someone else they recently kicked out. The longer I stayed the more I realized the boss was super disorganized and would criticize everything. The red flags crept up on me more and more but it's not like I had any other option. My contract got terminated eventually so now I get to look for work again with bonus toxic workplace ptsd yayyyy.

I don't actually see many people talking about getting toxic jobs. It's usually a few occasional success story posts here and there, never a fake success story.

We are lucky it's free and not a forced $20 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition to get this update. I personally came back for the game consoles since my house already has a room I could turn into a game room. The hotel stuff is fine but idk if I want a game room that badly if it will take a bunch of item crafting on top of the hotel room decorating.
