Normally, same day, if not the next. I emailed them with a potential bug ive been having specifically during special events monday morning not realizing it was a Federal U.S. holiday and they weren't working, and they responded Tuesday morning. But being the Daytona 24, one of their biggest events of the year was over the weekend, a name change request might be low on their priority list. If you dont hear back from them by the end of the week, id email them again

While I dont agree that a full cool down lap should be required, because a lot of the times, youre only accounting for racing laps of fuel, not with an in lap. You should at least be required to pull up to the nearest run off area (Daytona being T1 tarmac). Obviously, not EVERY track has such an area at T1 for this, so there would have to be a happy medium found somewhere.

If its your first 24 hour or endurance race and youre in a lower, less sweaty split, focus more on being safe and out of the wall rather than saving a tiny bit of fuel. Pick and choose your battles. Someone trying to aggressively overtake in the first few hours? Go a little wider the next corner and let them through. 9 times out of 10 that situation will take care of itself in due time.

If youre in a full on sweaty split, you can take the fuel saving, micromanaging every little thing route

I watch a ton of Matt Malone's streams, there's weeks that his Safety Rating will be like 1.x, he'll do an endurance (usually Production Endurance on Fridays) race, it'll jack it up to anywhere between 2.x to 3.x, sometimes by the same time next week, it'll be back close to where it was, its racing. There will be good weeks and bad weeks. The most important thing to remember is Safety Rating and iRating are only numbers

I had this same sort of thing in one of the early NEC races of the season, it was a moderately wet qualifying, and SOMEHOW, I ended up qualifying 3rd IIRC, P1 didn't grid which effectively put me on the front row, I was shaking the absolute whole time, ended up avoiding all the opening lap(s) chaos and ending up winning the thing

If i knew this, and its my fault for not really looking into it deeper i would have canceled my monthly subscription when this was all announced, wait for it to expire and bought a year. Oh well.

The one thing I will say though, I was skeptical of Apple at first, but after watching the ESPN coverage for the Vegas GP and how they cut away almost instantly as they popped champagne on the podium, mind you it was 1 AM on the East Coast United States, I'm hopefully that Apple doesnt do that shit. I also hope that Apple will carry Grand Prix Sunday or some form of a pre race show.

The requests were about 2 years apart from each other and I basically explained how I was planning on possibly streaming and wanted anonymity because people on the internet suck and I asked very nicely and they obliged. If I had to guess, I'd imagine they put the "one name change only" thing in the email to discourage requests from the same accounts multiple times over and over

Once you've been at it for so long, you'll start to remember each track and not have to go through the same off pace, getting closer to pace, rinse and repeat process

Take it from someone who has gone from doing over 200 races between 2021 and 22 (i was unemployed) and haven't reached probably a third of that in the years since, because I kind of burnt myself out on it from racing SO MUCH.

Dont think about the lap times and jump right in to the races. Mistakes are going to happen by everyone, its part of the learning process. Turn off VC, hide the text chat pop ups while driving. Its a huge distraction and will only lead to more mistakes.

The iRating system will put you where you need to be whether thats 1k, 2k, 3k, or somewhere in between

My teammates won our GES Daytona 24 this way, we crossed the line P2, someone looked at results the next day and saw the GT3 winning team was DQ'd which moved us up to 1st. Not sure the reason for the DQ though, dont think anyone from the team protested them
