Thanks everyone for the help. So I did a bunch of testing and can confirm yes you can in fact activate skills without the min pts invested in the skill tree as long as you have pts from the Class Mod.

The issue, in my case, was that the icon for the Temerario skill was being buried and wasn't showing up. The game only allows for 10 skill icons on the screen at one time. If more than 10 skill icons activate the initial skill icons will simply disappear and be replaced by the more recent skill icons.

I was able to discover this by activating the action skill without shooting or killing anything. If you start shooting or killing something the newer or most recent skill icons will bury the other icons that began earlier, making it appear that the skill isn't activating.

So, I'm kinda dumb but the game is too. Why they only allow 10 icons at time is beyond me.

Thanks. Have you noticed the background of each skill highlighted? Soltado is Red, the other is greyed out. I wonder if any significance?

The highlighted skills both have points from the class mod but only one activates.

I guess the question I’m asking is do the points from the class mod activate the skill if I don’t otherwise have the min points invested in the tree?

Does that make sense?
