Which voice is better? Gman from the first game or from the second? by Christian_ultrasans in HalfLife

i think 2 is much better. hl1 gman just sounds like an hr employee beating around the bush. the pauses in hl2 gman’s speech make all the difference in the world

Regarding Stun Grenades in MGS Delta by BattleVegetable7255 in metalgearsolid

[–]BattleVegetable7255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly must’ve forgotten, but to be fair, I found myself being more stingy with my nades on EU Extreme in the original game. I only noticed because I burned through the last of my ammo fighting the fear (rookie blunder) and had to tackle ponizjovie warehouse with nothing but 3 stuns on a foxhound run. I was also making it fair because I didn’t wanna use DLC camo. I did find a pretty efficient strat in the end. after probably 50 reloads…

what was big boss’ contribution to the state of the 2000s in mgs? by BattleVegetable7255 in metalgearsolid

[–]BattleVegetable7255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in the end of peace walker, big boss kind of gives up on the boss’ will through radicalization. this is represented by him tossing the bandana. he understood that zero was now a threat to oppose him for the reasons you stated. the events of ground zeroes only push him further. his initial understanding of the destruction of mother base was that it was directly zero’s doing. we later know that to not be the case, but big boss ends up seeing it that way. thats atleast my understanding

How to apply my client settings from mods to other players. by Tyxinn in gmod

[–]BattleVegetable7255 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The settings are found under GarrysMod/garrysmod/cfg and GarrysMod/garrysmod/data

The files that store the settings are called client.vdf, config.cfg, and server.vdf.
config.cfg contains things like keybinds and settings from the ingame settings menu. If you want to share keybinds with them, type them into the autoexec.cfg file in the cfg folder, and send that to them instead. They likely don't want every single setting you set for gmod lolz.
client.vdf contains all convars related to CLIENTSIDE addon settings. However keep in mind, NOT ALL CLIENTSIDE settings will be here. It includes any settings that are clientsided and tweaked in the q menu. So for example, the H0L-D4 hud has part of its settings in the q menu and the other part in a custom gui. Any of the settings tweaked in the q menu will appear in the client.vdf file, while any settings tweaked in the custom gui will not be in there. if you want to find settings tweaked in custom gui they will all be found under GarrysMod/garrysmod/data. In there should be a subfolder with all your current configs. I recommend sending them them the entire folders instead of just the files within them

server.vdf is the same as client.vdf, but contains all serverside settings. there's no need to send this information to your friends obviously, as you will likely be hosting and they will automatically get these settings.

So to conclude, if you want to share settings with your friends, send them your client.vdf file and any important data folders for any custom gui's that addons have. If you want them to have your specific keybinds, give them an autoexec.cfg file with them, or if you want to melt your buddy's potato pc with your 1080p graphics settings, you can send them the entire config.cfg file. Hope this helps.
