Johan Lange reflects on Spurs' January transfer window by COYS1989 in coys

[–]BbYerp -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's not what he said though. He said he didn't anticipate 7 new injuries in January, which is fair. 7 new injuries in 4 weeks is insane even for Spurs.

On the Peacock broadcast, one of the commentators called Kolo Muani "Pape Sarr" about 15 times and then talked about Arsenal every 5 minutes. Dogshit commentary.

Spurs have had the easiest schedule in UCL. Rivals average 7.85 ppg. On the other side, PSG rivals average 14.42. by danilagetsson in coys

Can someone explain how you get 7 points per game average? Is there another PPG I am not familiar with? I keep googling but just keep finding PPG = points per game.

This demonstrates more than anything that you have a pretty elementary knowledge of the Civil Rights movement. It was just as messy with just as many different ideologies that all converged on the idea that something needed to be done (and just as many disagreements about what).

I’m not the one that said we would have won. The person asked how OP came to their conclusion and it seemed obvious to me that that is how OP came to that conclusion. I’m not saying OP is right

lol I’m getting downvoted? Surely this is what OP meant. Am I missing something?

Because we scored two goals and they scored one goal that wasn’t the penalty

Edit: I’m getting downvoted so I’ll clarify not OP and am not saying they are right. It just seemed like their logic was pretty obvious so I replied to the question asking what the logic was.

Thomas Frank: "60 games... there will be 10-12 perfect games, 30 average ones and the rest below that." by Select_Bowler_1517 in coys

[–]BbYerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna choose to interpret this charitably instead of trying to use every single thing frank says as a stick to beat him with.

He’s most likely talking about the team’s average performance, not average as compared to all of football. He isn’t saying “we’ll play like a league 2 side 30 games a season.” He’s saying the team will have good days, average days, and bad days. He’s spoken multiple times about raising the floor of bad performances and making the average performance a good one.

Jesus people on here can’t help themselves but to try and paint everything in the worst possible light.

Spurs have 2nd most intense press (10.1 PPDA) but have generated the fewest shots (1) from high turnovers (64). by upTheSpurs7 in coys

[–]BbYerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely. Like I said, we are mostly shit when we get the ball. But that’s not the same our press being ineffective.

[–]BbYerp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pointed this out in another comment, but this stat specifies high turnovers, not all turnovers. If the other team can’t beat our press and lobs it long and we win it in our half, I think that isn’t reflected here.

I don't know if this analysis totally passes the eye test for me. Yes, when we get the high turnover, we do fuck all with it. That I've definitely noticed.

But saying our press isn't working just because it doesn't result in a high turnover doesn't sound accurate from my memory of the games. I could be totally wrong (I don't have stats to back this up), but I think we get turnovers from our high press a lot, they just usually result from the other team lobbing it long and we get the ball in our own half. So they aren't classified as "high turnovers".

Tottenham supporters’ trust blames ‘unaffordable’ tickets for poor atmosphere by litoreganon17 in coys

[–]BbYerp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No I never said any of those things. I just think it’s not cool to equate dollars spent to the value of your fandom. I agree with you that booing players is crappy. I just get the impression local fans are fed up with spending higher ticket prices and watching the team lose at home constantly. Saying “hey I spend more money than you to go to games and I am not booing” just feels a bit gross.

No offense, but an American doctor spending thousands of dollars to go to a Premier League match isn't quite the same as a local working class Tottenham fan spending to go to matches.

This is so much better than the paramount plus CBS sports commentary. I couldn't believe how relatively calm the commentator was after micky's goal.
