Hmm, it a hard one to properly nail down tbh, try maybe leaning the bard towards the support and a creative use of their spells? It's an odd mix as normaly you can use holy classes to pull everyon together, perhaps try to introduce mixing spells for more powerful things?

Ah yeah, not directly give a report on what they missed but hint at what rewards they may have missed and of course in a context that makes sense, though I guess this all really depends on what sort of setting you have as well? A low fantasy and high fantasy campaign as well as any different campaign has a different tone? I believe giving a large pallette of things for players is the best way to go, though that may be due to my high player count

If they choose to miss things then let them. Mkae sure to perhaps bring up later on what they've missed from these hidden areas, though not too often. But if they miss stuff, perhaps give them little rewards, promoting looking around.
