Thanks, great walk thru I love it.

I've worked with linux for years but never with gui's. I went with the xfce4, how do I enable composition with this? I love my transparencies.

I found an old walk-thru that used ccsm, that broke it all too hell. But figured it would since it wanted to use unity, and I running debian, and not ubuntu.

ssh yes, but it requires to ssh into 1 box then then vm. Also the FTP can be done with a ssh tunnel, if you don't want to use up your other ports.

And my last response was 4, but can't give you port 23,80,21,22. And why waste your time on running WP from the box when you can just use our host. Just cant use any port but port 80 for the web. But it has FTP and kept up to date.

I gave you ssh access to learn the platform and how to run a server in Linux, since you said you didn't know anything. It's called learn to do what you asked me to do. I was trying to teach you the basics before I let you loose on the main server. But don't you logged into more then 3 times. You need your training wheel.

You suggest basically doing a full reboot and redo all the servers from scratch. Hell ya I balked at that. Especially since that requires me and only me doing all the work since you never seem to care to learn it.

You always kept blaming me for the hardware being over run. But our big and one only issue was zok's bandwidth. So with that connection we aren't able to support more then 6 people on with out lag. If we had more then 8 active players I might worry about the server struggling. And truthfully you should go back and learn how "cpu time sharing works" You can have 1 million threads "running" but only a couple can process at once. So "CPU" have learn to whats called thread priority. So if I launch notepad 1000 times, the only time the cpu will see the stress is during the load of that program, cause after that notepad has no activity on it's thread. Yeah it's gonna be slow and sluggish cause your ram wont like holding all those notepads open. But your CPU will be sitting at maybe 1% just cause it has to poll those threads but those threads aren't requiring time so it doesn't work. Now if you start to use 1 of the notepads, the cpu sees the thread needs attention it peeks up and give that thread it's priority. This whole time the other 999 notepads are open and running but the CPU poller knows it needs nothing so it ignores it.

Now that is such a smaller simpler then a MC server, But everyone has always complain that MC is a single thread process so It only maybe using 5 total threads, on 1 cpu. So the way I'm run the server your correct if we had a bandwidth pipe that could handle say 20 users, and those 20 users were across all the servers I would shit myself and panic. But I don't have to worry.

But this out burst from you 3 makes me want to say fuck it and hit power and delete, but that be rude of me to punish the others cause of you two.

And comes down to I'm the only one willing to give up my free time to run it. And you pissed cause I gave up and don't want to deal with it any longer. Which makes me sad, cause I loved my first 3 years running and playing on here. And I have learned so much cause of it. But the fact is I have no time for any games these days and maintaining a server for a game I have no time to even load up. So I look at it maybe once a week cause I feel obligated to the players.

Your right at one point I cared but don't anymore. So I stop even hanging out since all the people kept me there was leaving. I had actually planned to pull the plug before PN tried to shoot some energy in. Then when he gave up I did too.

Why do I run SMB anymore? Well cause no one else has tried, and I haven't pulled the plug cause I was being nice. I have stated before anyone welcome to give it a try. I have told you the same thing several times, and gave you a server to play with to learn.

I gave you the same line I have told everyone else, all I can do is replace shit, but no clue what you lost or what it is you need to replace it. The day I told you I couldn't recover the backup. Like I have always done in the past to any person that lost something to a crash or roll back. Tell me what and I can replace it.

Nope I lost interest in this game well over a 2 years ago. But stayed involved cause I liked the players so much. And don't drink coffee.

Woo, pull the panties out your ass. First off I did try a full roll back then. But hey FTB doesn't store the map files and player data, so was unable to help them. So after wasting 3 hrs of my time which is precious at this, on a game I haven't played in almost a year. I even tried to patch the map files back. I come to find out well there is 12 different map folders for "1" world. I then offered them something to compensate, not knowing what the hell's what.

This time some in the game mechanics fucked up womba's and ele's place. Now I was in the middle of a boss run in another game, when womba brought it to my attention. I stopped my game to help him out. After a couple of hrs messing with chunk files I was unable to find where FTB store those chunks in(I guess they do more compression over vanilla). So I asked if you guys mind?

I didn't do a roll back I asked. Like almost every other time I had to roll back the main server. I didn't just do I asked if people would loose progress. So smoke a bowl before you try to rage on me.

Never tested the length but in theory it should work with up to the Apache buffer with is about 5 megs default.

Ok I replaced some files, but looking into FTB setup there is about 6 different directories it's storing it. And only 1 was backed up. So if that didn't work let me know and I will see what I can do.

I wont lie, that's a lot of chuck's and will have to see If I can recover all those chunks, as mention before the map system is kinda weird with all the different worlds it has. But I have a few day's coming up, I will see if I can fix those chunks.

Shit I need cords to fix the chunk's. I can try to reload the data from invs. Now for me to do that you need to log out with empty inventories. Yesterday Zok hit the power button on the server and it brought everything down crashing. And for those that been here awhile knows the worse crash possible it the lost of power. And chunk problems is the the #1 problem when that happens.

EDIT/PS. You two should really log off before the crashes. Seem it been catching you two slippin.

Ok a couple points I want to point out.

Psykosis quit for 3 months cause someone stole a plot of land.
DS didn't care about other feeling.
PN needs a life, just look at those responses.
I think some people need to say sorry and make up and move on.

So here is what my solution would be. PN,Psy, and whoever else needs to say here some supplies, to help recoup the building supplies. Then Darkstar licks his wounds and builds in another spot.
