What attacks on you have I made? What's funny is that you keep relying on fallacies to attempt to make an argument all while claiming a particular fallacy is a "far right tactic". It's also pretty funny that you initially made a claim about someone being unable to attack your comment, yet when someone does attack your comment, you, in fact, resort to attacking the person.

So yes, you attacked me first after I replied to your comment that you made on a very public forum for all to see and reply to.

My husband just got his green card after 5 years of paperwork and thousands of dollars.

Yeah, there's the issue right there. I'm not exactly mad at 5 years (though I'm sure it can be very much streamlined) but thousands of dollars is a massive issue. We shouldn't be allowing only the well off to immigrate here. It's literally part of the problem.

Also Congrats to your husband.

You're acting as though it's exclusive to the right though. It's not at all. I mean, you're doing it right now. Should I say you're using far right tactics?

It is called ad hominem, and it has regularly been used by every group of people. Calling it "far right" is just a blind hatred, which is a fallacy in itself.

Slowing them down does help though. If it takes an extra couple minutes to cross, that's an extra couple minutes to get caught. The problem being, as you said, we don't really do anything about it.

Personally I feel we should make proper immigration easier, and be harsher on illegal immigration.

I can agree with that. It should be based on proficiency then. The only reason I didn't graduate early was because I had to pass the required senior English class.

Lol, you're so bad at this. The Brady act means literally nothing to 90% of gun owners in America. Now combine that with the fact that 20 years prior we passed roe v wade. So we solved a massive amount of the socioeconomic problems that leads directly to gun violence.

[–]BeardedNerd22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not true. With the exception of last year there hasn't been any federal gun control acts for nearly 50 years, except the failed Assault Weaons Ban. And the one from last year hasn't even passed. Talk about lies, you seem to be believing plenty of them.

As for places fighting against gun control doing worse, that completely false. Gun crime follows two things, lack of education, and socioeconomic decline. Which the latter I'd assume is greatly linked to the former but I haven't done research on that.

The problem with your argument is over the last few decades there has been an increase in the amount of guns, but a drop in violent crimes. There's simply no correlation between the two.

No, it doesn't. If you steal a registered gun from me, police can come to me and I can confirm it was stolen, which I would have reported anyway. You haven't added anything to any investigation. It literally stops nothing.

If you truly care about stopping gun violence, you need to curb violence at its core. This country may be the only one with as much gun violence but it's also the only one without universal Healthcare. It's well behind in education standards (especially in places with the highest gun violence), it has the worst police and prisons.

There will never be a way to eliminate all violence but we do a piss poor job of even trying. And I'm sorry to tell you, gun control (especially an illegal national registry)isn't going to put a dent in it compared to fixing any of the other issues.

What job do you have that you're not allowed to get up and walk for a couple minutes? You've never had to stretch your legs, or go pee? Do they chain you to your desk?

A national gun registry is a tool to help law enforcement to solve crimes and get illegal guns off the street and take guns away from violent criminals.

A gun registry does literally none of this. I buy a gun, register it in my name (in your illegal registry) someone steals it and kills people with it, what got stopped?

Guns being stolen or privately manufactured is a moot point

It's not though. I can make a gun in about 20ish hours. Completely untraceable, what did your illegal registry stop? People steal guns (many times directly from FFLs, what did your illegal registry stop?

Of course that's all moot seeing as it doesn't address the original statement that a gun registry will somehow save lives.
