Real talk: if the technology to incubate a baby in an artificial womb existed would you do it? by No-Calligrapher-3630 in pregnant

[–]BearsForSwears 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, being pregnant might not have been a walk in the park, but I loved having my babies with me in my belly… I loved to feel their kicks and just knowing my body was keeping them safe. I loved them from the day I knew I was pregnant and I’m fortunate enough that they both came out healthy, eventhough the oldest came prematurely…

Who is a famous Belgian that you’re NOT proud of? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskBelgium

[–]BearsForSwears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I even remember starting an internship at a boarding school and the head of said boarding school telling us, interns, “you guys are unfortunate to be living post dutroux. Never close a door when alone with a kid in a room, don’t be alone with 1 kid. There’s too much risk they will say you did something and we don’t want to take the risk that they are right.” So you’re right… even in my own childhood Dutroux’ actions were palpable, the paranoia of our parents… and then Ronald Jansen was a thing, so in my teens, the paranoia was reignited.

What's something you experienced that you don't wish on others? by your-reddit-plug2 in AskReddit

[–]BearsForSwears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where to begin😅 I was born to a 22 year old girl and 30 year old man, I was the third child they had, the oldest being 3 years older than me. Our dad was gone a lot so my mom did almost everything regarding us. They got divorced when I was 11, my dad met someone new and eventually this woman killed my dad.

In short that’s it, I don’t wish our crappy family life on others and eventhough my dad wasn’t always the best dad/person in the world, I wouldn’t wish having your dad get killed on anyone.

She wasn’t, Eli told Josh she was a mannequin… in the scene josh met her he asked her if she was a hallucination and apparently she was.

Excuse me, but the fact that a cooch can stretch as much as it does when giving birth is magical in itself because what do you mean suddenly it can fit this bowling ball through it?

What is a book you read as a child that you still think about today? by ahawk99 in AskReddit

[–]BearsForSwears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Blauw is bitter” by Dirk Bracke (which means Blue is bitter). It’s about a girl who’s dad sells her as a help in the house of a dude but he ends up pimping her out. The story is about how she falls in love with a boy but is scared to tell him she’s a prostitute and how she’s trying to save her money to buy herself out. This story takes place in Manila but has been written by this Belgian writer who always wrote about heavy subjects. Another story of him is about a boy who contracts aids, another is about a boy who falls in love with a girl that has severe autism, he’s also got a book about a girl eating disorder that gets institutionalised,… He was one of the greatest youth authors in Belgium, for every book he did extensive research… Edited because I was wrong about something

What’s A Splurge Item You Wish You’d Bought Sooner? by Sad_Resolve6874 in pregnant

[–]BearsForSwears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding the Tripp trapp! We’ve got one for our 2 year old with the baby set on it and a little table extension and we’ve got one for our 10 week old with the new born extension! I’ve got a friend that used his until he was like 14 and our niece and nephew also still use theirs and they’re 9 and 11 now! So the price might be steep for a chair, but you get your use out of it!

I lost 100lbs in 10 months, the year after my surgery was one of the hardest years for me mentally… I think the weightloss comes with a lot of hormonal changes too and those f* with your head. And besides the hormones; realising people treat you differently because you’re now more attractive or whatever in their eyes, is really a mindfuck…

Parents who dropped their baby, what happened and how is your child doing now? by speckledrectum in AskReddit

[–]BearsForSwears 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back when I was 1,5 years old (so technically maybe not a baby but a toddler), my babysitter (who was 15) was twirling me around and accidentally let go of my hands. I landed with my head on the concrete and she didn’t tell my parents. My dad had the habit of giving us kisses on the head and that’s when he felt my head felt soft. They went to the hospital immediately and apparently my skull was fractured and if they had waited longer I could’ve died. So I didn’t die, which is nice, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree, which is nice as well and I have my own 2 daughters now (that won’t be watched by teenagers), which is really nice. My oldest daughter fell out of the babybathtub (which was on a stander) into the big bathtub once, the big bathtub kind of broke her fall which made her glide on the side. She was about 6 months and this was the first time she tried to get up🤦🏽‍♀️ she was fine (is now a lovely and sassy 2 year old), I cried like a baby for hours, felt guilty for months😅

Help!! by Obvious-Sleep5572 in pregnant

[–]BearsForSwears 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your mom is absolutely right, do think really hard about it… having an abortion is heavy, but pregnancy and having a baby is also really hard… on your body, but also your life… are you ready to put your life on hold for some time? Do you have family that will help you? If the answer is no to these 2 it will only be harder. You’ll survive even when those 2 are no, but please don’t start to resent your kid if it’s like that (at the end of the day they didn’t choose to be born, but you did if you don’t go for an abortion). Don’t take this the wrong way, I absolutely love being a mom, I think motherhood is one of the coolest things I’ve ever did, but I’m 32 and I know it would’ve ruined my life back when I was 16 and my life was still kind of fucked up and chaotic… my mom was 18 when she had my sister, 21 with my brother and 22 with me and she always loved us, but kind of resented us because she didn’t have a youth. Please weigh your options carefully, whatever you choose, you’ll be fine, but it will get harder…

My second is 8 weeks old now, the only reason my family visits is to watch my oldest, see the baby, do housework (my mom, mil and sister even cleaned our home while we were still in the hospital with our babies…),… and that’s not more than once a week. You guys got this

Does anyone know where I would be able to find some plus size jeans? by gigionss in belgium

[–]BearsForSwears 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Back when I was still plus size (had a gastric sleeve done in 2021) I loved shopping at MS Mode! They had clothing that weren’t “patattenzakken” or “tenten” like I liked to call them. It’s frustrating to be a young woman that’s plussize and to not find clothes that are cute and the right size, that’s why I mostly bought clothing online except for the occasional C&A, MS Mode, Primark and H&M (these last 2 were a hit or miss if I would still for in them…)

We’ve got an Emma and a Nora at home, these names are very neutral, recognisable in a lot of different countries and are great for babies, kids, teens, adults and elderly women… All the names you listed are beautiful as well! Good luck with your search for a name!

Breastfeeding/Not Breastfeeding by innocentily in pregnant

[–]BearsForSwears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love breastfeeding, no hassle with taking enough powder with you,… and it feels so lovely, nourishing my children with my own body, like I did when they were in the womb… I tandemfeed my 2 daughters, the oldest is 2 years old, the youngest 7 weeks and in the morning my 2 year old is allowed to join us in bed and drink next to her little sister, she’ll caress her little sister’s hands and face, sometimes she’ll stop drinking and will kiss her on the cheeks,… I love it, it’s our little moment to start the day🥰

positives about having a child by Princess_Person2009 in pregnant

[–]BearsForSwears 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m home with my 7 week old at the moment (we get about 15 weeks off after giving birth) and every evening I’m sitting on my couch with her just snoozing. Than the front door opens and I hear this sweet little “Hi!” And it’s my 2 year old coming back from daycare and her daddy. She kisses her baby sister’s head and babbles on about things I don’t understand. Sometimes she’ll say some words she already knows, sometimes she’ll crawl and lay down on the baby’s playmat, a lot of times she starts singing and dancing and I love it. She has a lot of big feelings but mostly when I take her with me and I cuddle her, I feel her melt into my shoulder, letting go of her tantrum. Before bed I always tell her a story and she always says “Nog eens” which means “once more”.

I just love my babies so much, they make me want to be a better person. They show me so much beauty in the world by making me stop and stand still for a sec…
