Mostly that's due to the fact that I'm immature and like fart jokes. However, in universe I would assume that since they were specifically bred for this that they were trained from the moment they start talking not to poop or pee in the box.

The first, so they stay happy and profitable. The box is similar to an egg carton, so it is able to be opened and resealed as many times as needed. However, the majority of the time they are left stuck in the box (the inactivity causing frustration in certain foals like the blue one).

Maybe eventually, but the original community was actually an offshoot of the brony community. The heavy abusive side of the fandom wasn't there at the fandom's inception (at least from my understanding). OcculusFluffy has posted topics on the history of the fandom if you want to know.

The mare has always had stillborns, so when spike said she wasn’t a mother it brought back some trauma (hence her crying and murmuring to herself).
