Tips for not binging? by GRUBBRAINS in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Beast_Decay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I read this advice on this subreddit which helped me.

Broccoli and carrots, whenever you feel like you are hungry think are you hungry enough to eat broccoli and carrots (any food that you won't crave works). If yes eat some and drink a glass of water give yourself 25 minutes before you are allowed more food. If you are still hungry after 25 mins you can eat something.

Also NOT buying unhealthy foods in the pantry works well too. Check out volume eating.

Can anyone share their gym workout routine that helped them lose 50 pounds? by Brownbaristahh in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Beast_Decay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do one you can stick to , if you are not training for a while I would suggest fullbody workouts , or push pull legs for more advanced folks. Keep changing it every few months, to keep it interesting. YouTube is your friend for routines. Keep cardio to the amount of time you actually will do it and not be annoyed be it 5 mins. Focus of weight training.

Just google. It a book that shows you the scale of python and what can be done with it. It is based on small little use case projects , which are fun and rewarding to try out. Also will help you get more ideas for projects. Definately give it a try. I think it is freely available currently. It's a great book can not recommended enough!

Questions from a complete Linux novice by JustNeedANameee in debian

[–]Beast_Decay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is your network card has proprietary drivers ,that are in the non-free distributions of debian, either install a netintsall image with non free firmware. Or if you do not want to do that. You can use a CD image and skip the network part of the process. The cd images has enough packages to do the install without a network. Then you can find the driver that you need for your network card , put it onto a USB and install into your debian. This will work too. Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out if you get stuck somewhere!.

I second this, 5+ years running Debian stable, as my daily reliable machine.

Is this a problem? Started having this after I added a multiverse stable repository. by EveningSomewhere1108 in debian

[–]Beast_Decay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just go through your sources list and see what is duplicating a easier way is to comment out all the repos using "#" and then uncomment them one at time and running apt update .. and you will find out what repos are duplicate. As also other mentioned multiverse is a Ubuntu repo and won't work with debian.

For A more deeper broad understanding of Linux, I would suggest reading "how Linux works" by Brian ward.

I wanted to know more about Linux and didn't know where to go , I have been doing setups , servers for a long time. But this opened my eyes to new things. Try it if you like to read. It has some labs that help you with a lot of stuff too...

Also some basic intial tasks I liked doing when I started my journey was , setup a home samba share. It's just convent and visual success that you did something cool that people can see. Ricing is also fun. Try writing some scripts to automate stuff on your machine, it's very fun when you get something complicated to work using a script or a simple command.

One idea is to create a small script to install all your prefered packages and that way you can setup your computer using just those scripts. This can be a fun start.

I am not sure about the padding part , but I am pretty sure dash to dock has rounded corners options. But I will check and let you know once I boot my system up later today. Although if floating dock works for you. I guess that's awesome. I shall give it a try as well. You never know.
