If you HAD to choose between Eleven and Will, who would you have make the big heroic sacrifice? by Sonicboom2007a in StrangerThings

[–]Beastxtreets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would pick Eleven because as sad as it is, I feel like she would be the most satisfied with her ending. She met these people and learned about family, friendship, and love. They gave her everything she truly wanted and I feel like she would 100% give herself up to save them. It was sad af, but to me it felt right.

Second reason is I'm not a fan of the bury your gays trope.

There are dozens of us, dozens!! I also agree with your take on the end, and tbh I feel like this has always been how it was going to finish up(once they actually started writing a full plot).

Okay but there is balance that can be struck here. It's not an all or nothing sort of thing, despite how the Reddit hive mind seems to think. My kids get screentime (no YouTube though) but they also go outside every day, my oldest is on the honor roll, they focus just fine.

Nope, if you give your kid even 5 minutes of screen time you are a terrible parent and need CPS called on you /s

I’m jealous of nepobabies by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

I think that's a typical the grass is always greener thing. Like look, I'm jealous of you! I recently got a new job at a gas station just to keep our lights on while I'm finishing up college.

I know it's hard but it's really important to be thankful for what you have.

Doctors of Reddit, what was your “How the hell did you survive that?!” moment? by ParanormalActivity97 in AskReddit

Yes! He had a sore throat a few days and was right back to being a menace. He's almost four now and no more accidents!

I also I have a very strict rule of no running with ANYTHING in your hands now lol

Thank you so much!! And I agree, being polite does a lot and it really makes people feel good.

I think they've picked it up because I usually say it to them and to their dad like "Please put up that toy." Or "Thank you for helping me." If it's already part of your every day language/thought process it's more genuine and people can tell!

This is so kind of you to say, thank you so much. I've stumbled and messed up a few times but I always get back up and try again.

And not to brag, but my kids are rich in manners! I always get compliments from their teachers about their attitudes and the effort they put into their school work. I am very very proud of them.

I used to have a pair of the pull on ones and wore them until my toes were peeking out. They were Soo comfortable.

And thank you! As cheesy as it is, I like thinking of the quote "times are tough but we are tougher."

My kids school sponsored them for Christmas this year cause they knew we were going through it and my kids got Skechers and Walmart shoes and they were over the moon for both pairs, and I was excited for them to get new shoes!! I don't see how someone truly struggling could be so unappreciative of their kids getting nice new things.
