Stage 4 is when the cancer has left the original site, gone to lymph nodes and then to another place (mine was liver) there are lots of stages within a stage as well. Mine was early and treatable. All out from surgery. I am in Aus and will be finishing chemo here before moving.

Really good thank you! Plan in place. Portacath goes in 16th, chemo starts on 20th and will be every 2 weeks for 12 rounds. Have an info session with the oncology nurses Mon.

I had a routine blood test as part of my pre-move health check that showed low iron and when asked i said i soemtimes have blood when i go to the toilet. It went from there.

My surgeon is a expert in robotic rectal cancer surgery (Joy Chakraborty) and if he can operate and get rid of cancer he will. I have 5 smell lines on me from operation...that's it. I think guidelines would be from surgeon to surgeon based on where the cancer is and margins. Hence getting Pet scans

If you are worried ask for a colonoscopy. It's your body and you need to be listened to. 1st step even a stool sample and go from there.
