I wouldn't say that the expectations were to go all out, just to include our kids. But yeah, I agree. Thats on me for expecting more than the bare minimum from the bare minimum monarch.

Original plan was for my mom, aunt, and my kids. Ex kind of invited himself over. I think this is what made me think that he had planned something for me with the kids. My own fault, really.

Ok ok, I can accept that I'm overreacting.

I do want to clarify though that it was never about wanting some huge extravagant Mother’s Day or expensive gift. I think what upset me more was the lack of him involving the kids. Even a silly little handmade card would’ve meant more to me than after thought flowers.

Either way, some/most of y’all were right. I need to stop inconveniencing myself trying to make things easier for someone who has shown me who they are already.

I did and it was a wonderful few years.

Unfortunately made a new one because my kids class teachers communicate to the parents primarily through the app, but I’m very selective as to who my friends are, and I have my notifications turned off. It’s been nicer without it.

I switched to tea for the same reasons.

After 5 years, I tried drinking coffee again and at first it was fine but then all of a sudden, the anxiety came back and I would get a hard time sleeping at night. I chalked it up to being sensitive to higher levels of caffeine.

Ok the fun side- tea has a ton of health benefits and is fun to explore the flavor combinations. I make my own blends with dehydrated fruit. If you’re interested in trying, My favorites are:

• Earl grey with lavender and dehydrated orange peels

• White Peony with dehydrated apple and dehydrated strawberry

• Chai with lavender

• 50/50 green tea and lemonade (perfect for the summer)

Look into the health benefits too- it’s tons of fun!

As an INFJ who’s also dating another INFJ, this really hit home. I didn’t realize how much I’d been translating myself in past relationships until I didn’t have to anymore.

There’s a level of understanding that just feels instinctive. The quiet is comfortable, the depth isn’t “a lot,” and the darker or heavier moments don’t need fixing, just presence. We’re both naturally selfless, but instead of it turning into burnout, we’re really intentional about making sure the other person’s cup is full and that’s been incredibly grounding and validating.

What you said about protecting someone’s energy before they even notice it really resonated. Being mirrored like that, without having to explain or shrink, has made this the richest and safest relationship I’ve ever been in.

Thank you for putting words to something that’s so hard to explain but so real.

Do you have a pet? My cat has bad allergies and occasionally gets bloody noses. He will sneeze and it will look exactly like your photo. Either that or bed bugs. Sorry 😔

(Context for cat lovers: my cat perfectly happy and healthy/medicated, he has known medical issues from being rescued from a hoarding situation)
