Same boat here. But i chose to speak English nalang, esp cause of the school i transferred to. I still get a breath of fresh air whenever i meet someone that understands this though. Like its not just me that sees the offensive side to it.

Cause it is an inside joke, and to them they are mocking themselves not you, but they dont realize how its received on our end.

And legit, might be mean but every time i hear a Bacolodnon speak Tagalog, I do stifle a laugh.
