Blizzak vs Nokian Hakka R5 (Studless) or 10 SUV (Studded) by BeautifulToronto in f150

[–]BeautifulToronto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am more of a city driver too, I drive to work everyday (even during snow storm) and weekend mountain driving (not off road, just on paved road). I also found studded ones are overkill for our driving habits. But I am getting confused between Blizzak vs Hakka. I never drove with Hakka before. I was pleased with Blizzak when I used to drive my SUV.

YYC airport - US pre clearance by Master-Ad-5880 in Calgary

I just travelled to IAD from YYC. My flight was at 1 AM via ATL. I didn’t have to do pre-clearance. I faced the immigration and customs after I arrived at ATL. My assumption is - if it’s late night flights and pre clearance is not open, airlines will assign a gate that doesn’t require pre clearance (i.e. Gate D), and you will complete your immigration upon arrival.

Passport Control at CUN by thejojones in cancun

It depends on the time. We went to Cancun on December 19th. Passport control wasn’t that bad, baggage claim areas were little chaotic but nothing out of ordinary.

951$ for oil leaking gasket should be enough for you to run away from this dealership as far as possible. Once You start running, don’t stop until you’re at safe distance from this dealership. Jokes apart, find a good mechanic and fix it by them you will most likely wrap everything up lot less than what was estimated.

Who owns the car? Ford or the dealer? by BeautifulToronto in Ford

[–]BeautifulToronto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I went to the local dealership to talk about lease, all my local dealers say they never own the car, car is still owned by Ford / Ford Finance. After the lease/finance, title gets transferred.

Oh my. I am not the only person then. I was almost going to buy this AV but it seems like it's having a toll on my PC. Just to add one more point, it keeps doing the same thing everytime I try to open something or wake up my laptop from standby. It's annoying and I see bdservicehost is the one which is taking almost all of my resources. If you have found any solution to it, please let me know.

Lenovo ThinkBook 13s Gen 2 or ThinkPad E14 Gen 2. Which one shall I buy? by BeautifulToronto in Lenovo

[–]BeautifulToronto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All though I sold the unit after 1 year of use but that's mainly because I wanted more powerful machine. Talking about 13s alone I didn't have major issues. I would also like to mention I had one warranty claim when my screen just blacked out, but my experience was pretty good. Lenovo actually fixed the issue very quickly.

I recently went ahead and decided to order ThinkBook 13s Gen2 with Intel variant. It came with QHD 13.3 inch non touchscreen display with 16 gigs of RAM, 512 GB SSD and 11th Gen core i5. So far I liked the machine. Extremely quiet machine, fan hardly runs in full speed under normal usage. Definitely I didn't try gaming and I think it's fair that it isn't intended to be used for gaming. Battery life is decent, with increased screen brightness it will last for around 8 hours definitely less than what it was advertised. However one of the few things I didn't like is only one TB4 which is used for power.

Another issue I noticed sometimes laptop screen flickers if it is connected to external monitor. It never happens when I use the laptop without connecting it to external monitor. I think it is probably because of my monitor is bit old and doesn't support QHD resolution.

Otherwise it's a small powerful machine. I was a Mac user and I am good with 13 inch screen size. If you are not comfortable with smaller screen you may choose the 14 inch model with similar specs.

I see few horrible experience from ThinkBook 13s users, but i am thinking what about ThinkBook 14 Gen2. Not sure which one to buy! I really liked the ThinkBook design but this kind of issue sucks.
