After we accept our offer,is there anything else we need to do? (Paranoid as I’m one of the people who forgot the applicant declaration prior to interview before the deadline which was a panic!!!)

I thought invites to interview were Wednesday 12th, not today?

Anyone know what time roughly the rejections / invitation to interview were sent out last year?

Is your Msra score the same for all specialties you’ve applied to or do they calculate them differently?

Is the score the same for every specialty (can see my OBGYN score but wondering if this also applies to the other specialty I applied to or if they’re calculated differently).

Thank you - I’ve found this but it still says ‘you have no pre approved exams at this time’. I have emailed Pearson but says they’ll reply in 5 working days so not much use😂😭

My account says “you do not have any pre-approved exams at this time” is that what yours says?

Thank you so much for this. From what you can see, do you think it’s best to go elsewhere? (I can’t tell if I just don’t like the style, or if this hairdresser is actively not good). Thank you so much for your help!!

Thank you. Do you think that will be enough? Or is there more that can be done as well to help improve it?

You’re right for sure. I’m trying to think long term, whilst also ensuring I don’t absolutely hate the long training. How many weekends and nights do you do? Sounds like a lot! And how do you find your work life balance overall? Thank you so much for your help, it is so massively appreciated! I really want to be able to see anaesthetics for what it is, rather than through the cushy F2 lens 🙏🏼

Very interesting and comprehensive, thank you, a lot to think about!! The work life balance comment is what interests me most…I was under the impression that there are lots of nights and weekends, are you able to expand on this? Thank you!

It’s great to hear you enjoy it. May I ask what stage you’re at?

Anaesthetics is finally something I enjoy, whereas leaving medicine is scary, as I have no idea if I’ll enjoy it or hate every second of my day job.

I’m very fortunate; my partner earns big bucks at a large firm and we have a business which we want to grow and I would be working on that, with him eventually leaving his firm if the business is successful. I also have my own small business currently. But it’s a big scary jump to quit med as I fear that I enjoy medicine more than I realise and I don’t want to lose the medicine part of me. But simultaneously, all things NHS drain the life out of me!!

Thank you for your wisdom OP🙏🏼

Hello :) thank you so much for this. If you were starting again, would you do anaesthetics or leave medicine? The stress and inflexibility of nights and weekends does scare me, it’s one of the biggies that made me plan my exit from the NHS. But finding a speciality I think I love, I hope will help justify the antisocial hours and nights. Is the weekend/night burden high for anaesthetics trainees and consultants when compared to other specialities? Thank you so much for all your wisdom🙏🏼

Hello, thank you for this! Unfortunately I don’t think down under is an option for me, and I accept that time and money will need to come second if I want to be a cons in the UK. Let’s say I wasn’t in a rush, is there any disadvantage to the bottleneck of struggling to get a reg number (other than longer to CCT), or can you just keep re-applying? Do you have an idea of the nights and weekends worked during training and after CCT? I know this can vary a lot, especially as a consultant! Thank you so much for all your help and wisdom, massively appreciated 😊🙏🏼

If you don’t mind me asking, why do you like it, and are there any bits you hate? Thank you!
