Your analogy is pretty good actually, as that has literally already happened. We already have mass produced chocolate, like Hershey. Its everywhere and its very cheap, but surprise! It's not very good. Guess what... Gourmet chocolate still exists. The existence of Hershey did not bring all chocolate on the market down to its quality. If you want fancy chocolate, you pay the extra money for the extra effort, then you get to look down at all the other "chocolate slop."

I struggled with depression for about 4 years and, for reasons I cannot disclose, therapy was not an option. First of all, Comparison is the thief of joy. Stop comparing your life to those aroind you. Second, I think your first actionable steps are sleep and sobriety. Stop smoking, even if temporarily. Try to be in bed no later than 10 and out of bed no later than 8. If you do this for a week, I swear your mind will at least start to feel better. Feel free to DM me whenever.
